Northwich 2-1 up after 16 minutes. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

No score for FGR at Carlisle yet. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Sounds like a pretty quiet game at Tamworth at the moment with not much happening. Theobald and Midgely starting and Greggors keeping his place after starting at Leigh.

C'mon Canvey.

we now have two vital home games coming up - win them both and we are safe, win one and we are in with a chance. If we go to FGR on the last day needing 1 (or more) points then I think we would go down. Oh well, two weeks from now it will all be over one way or the other.

Sort of agree Exile.

Be interesting to get the views of those who were there. I'm going to reserve judgement at the moment, well a little bit anyway.

Official website makes it sound as though we battled hard and were unlucky. The previews on BBC Essex suggested it was luck lustre with neither team really seeming bothered. When Canvey did have a go shots were way off target.

If the lads have the same attitude as when they played at Leigh then we are in serious trouble. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

The original post suggested that FGR battled at Northwich and they must have done that today. I was not expecting them to get a result today - but perhaps I shouldn't be worrying about them its up to us to grind out results. From the commentary it sounded as though we miss Lee terribly and midfield is just not providing the service - even the commentary remarked on "Canvey laying the ball back" - we can pass the ball to the left, right and backwards dozens of times but it ain't providing opportunities.

Be interested to know why Keeling was subbed for Duffy - commentary said it may have been injury - anyone able to confirm.

Realistically we are still 3 points ahead of FGR and we still have a better chance of picking up points than FGR in our remaining games - but by [****!!****] we have to be 100% committed and determined to beat these teams - they aren't going to give it to us on a silver plate. We also have a better goal difference for our final game at FGR if needed......

Fleetfanatic - these threads bringing back memories??

It was an awful game today and both sides were very ordinary. We probably deserved at least a draw. Tamworth had their chance and took it and after that defended very well.

Not sure why Keeling went off. May have taken a knock but he did seem quite lively today.

Listeining to the commentry after the game I was given the impression that the Canvey players did not give their ALL and looked very lack luster. The commentator said that in the position Canvey were in he would expect the players to have much more commitment and fire to try and win, fluffing shots at goal and dire passing sounded to me like the the state of play today.

It has to be asked for the sake of the die hard travelling supporters, 'Are our players being honest in their efforts to keep Canvey in the top flight of Non League football' ?

Have to hope Hereford do us a massive favour.
