Well done CL, NR & the Lads

Yes. That's was a shame on Saturday. Hopes of a play-off place finally dashed, methinks.

A report from last night should be on Rob's web-site shortly.

[Cruised to a 3-0 lead with a workman-like performance against a poor Margate side. Davis scored after 40 seconds, Tomlin on 32 minutes and Ibe 70. We opened a porous defence regularly. Seeby and Davis had very good games in the middle, Walshe out wide threatened throughout, and Ibe and Tomlin are quick. Martin and Wild were comfortable against Stadhart and Baptiste all night.

They scored a freak goal on 80 and another on 83 minutes. A pulsating last 10 when either side could have scored again.

A well-deserved 3 points. Never in any doubt really.

Oh, by the way. If you get the chance, have a look at Bastock's hands at the next opportunity. They are absolutely huge. He should have tried the oval ball. He might have done well.]

Shame we didn't beat Sutton - we'd be six points off a play-off place.

I think in the long run considering where you were a play-off place might have been a little optimistic.Brilliant result last night well done to Colin and his players One more win should secure a well deserved place in the division for another season.

Look carefully, AFF, there's a report there already (clue: go to fixtures page and click on the Margate result)

Not counting chickens but either Margate or Maidenhead now have to win three out of their last four games, a tall order for both, and we have to lose all our last five.

Margate have Dorchester (H), Eastbourne (A), Havant (A), Stortford (H)

Maidenhead have Thurrock (A), Lewes (H), Grays (H), Newport (A).

Bastock is arguably the best keeper in the Conference and a good deal better than many in the league, especially that joker in goal for Liverpool at the moment.

On the basis of the past 16 games, the points ratio for 37 games would be 79 points and for 42 games, 89 points. Stimson - manager of the season? Don't think so.

Arise, Sir Colin!

HI Webbo.

First, a post in response to one concerning the possible availability of players for next season: "BUT WILL CASTLE WANT THEM?". Subtle.

And then, in response to a post praising the achievement of the avoidance of near-certain relegation by Colin Lippiatt: "so we won the League then!".

I have been thinking about the source of these rumours concerning a possible return of our former manager, Webbo, and I wonder whether it is you? I've carefully read Gibbo's programme notes from last Saturday and they remind me of another occasion when something was to be discussed.

Is this another of your "I've got a secret. Nah, nah n-nah-nah" stories Webbo?

Webbo. I'll be your best friend if you tell me your secret.

Hmmmnnnn.

From Gibbo's programme notes last week:

"I am though aware that our supporters are already speculating about next season and Colin has been the subject of much of that speculation".

I appreciate that you qualify as a 'supporter' only in the loose sense of the word as you only get to two games a season, but I can only think that Gibbo means you, Webbo.

Careless talk, Webbo. Very dangerous. You may even get a reference in the speeches at the players' presentation night at the end of the season. Stand by.
