-MATCH THREAD-

The two strikers did have next to no service. Our midfield is fairly shot shy. None of Wilko, Mets and Hakki really fancy their chances from distance. Spencer can only lob. Carbon likes to attack the box and it remains to be seen what Mason can do - shooting wise I mean. It should certainly be encouraged from distance. However I think Eddie prefers a patient passing game so instead of risking giving them a goal kick we tend to keep the ball.

Football is an art, not a science. It happens. It happened last year against Corinthian Casuals and by definition these shockers will only happen against lowly teams otherwise losing wouldn't be such a shock.

Get over it. Thursday's another day.

I agree completely but usually the shocks are about the other team raising their game rather than our defenders losing the plot.

Oh well bring on Thursday!

Shocking performance. The entire team (excluding Miller and Hodges) should be ashamed of themselves as nobody put in any effort whatsoever (excluding Carbon for the 2nd goal).

I think we all thought all we needed to do was turn up to win. Eddie's tactics were badly wrong, why weren't Daly and/or Wilko even on the bench, why was Allaway subbed at half-time, why take off our best player in Miller and yet keep on a player who had done bugger all all night (Murphy)?

I'm extremely disappointed and, yes, embarrassed by the performance and result - especially from our defence - but I also think Kingstonian looked impressive, playing without fear. If they'd played like all this season, they might well be in the top 6 or 7. Their players deserved the win tonight and I'd like to congratulate them for it. You could see how much it meant to them, and the hardcore of fans, after an extremely difficult season.

I think most of us would of done the same and rested players, maybe not to the extent Eddie did. Eddie hasn't made many mistakes so lets get behind him and the players for Thursdays match.

We had one defender at the back, no service from midfield and the strikers couldn't get in the game. We always have a match or two like this every season, what happened after Northwood...we smashed Eastleigh 4-0.

Lets hope we can improve for Thursday!

Yep - I mean, I'm as gutted as the next fan but I just can't begrudge them the victory after a performance like that. I'll bet that's probably one of their best performances of the season, alongside one of our worst. Our players will be gutted, rightfully, and they'll know how we feel by the lack of applause at the final whistle. So I'm hoping for a bit of a backlash on Thursday.

Anyone care to answer how a team can beat a team 4 leagues above them, but still lost to a team thats been relegated in their own league?

Another convert who actually can see what I have been saying since the Walsall result- we still have the magnificient Bryco Cup runners up spot to look forward too.

I saw the recent game when K's played Eastleigh and after that I said that they looked quick and bright going forward but poor at the back and lacking in confidence once they went behind.

Last night we didn't put enough pressure on their suspect defence and allowed them to play to their strengths. We also never got in front although as they were already down the confidence thing probably wouldn't have affected them as much anyway as in previous games.

I think they deserve a bit of credit at the same time our performance and defensive frailties deserve criticism.

After last night I tried to take some consolation from us having rested several players.

Then I read this on the K's forum.

"Believe it or not, it was a 'squad' team we lined up with tonight. Although the new manager is looking at all the players at the moment - regulars missing were goalkeeper Andy Iga, Kiwi international Scott Smith, captain Rob Paris and top scorer Phil Ruggles. Two of the planned starters - Steve Guaje-Velandia and Jean Serge-Musungu both got lost on the roads and so were unable to make the start too!"

Additionally 2 players , who are dual registration players, were needed by their other clubs.

We were completely over run in midfield. Defenders made mistakes, but that will happen when players are out of position and under constant pressure. The midfield just did not exist, and to me thats where the problem centered.

I know it's not an excuse for our worst performance of the season bar Northwood, but I thought some players looked tired last night. Saulsbury made more mistakes last night than he has made all season and Mets seemed off the pace as well. As for the defending for the last goal - it was comical!

That is definately true, but we seem to have lost that art as well. In the last few games we have been very good at passing straight to the oppo and not to team mates.

Also, with the amount of games we have to come, we won't have much time, if any, for training to put it right.

however...Brilliant first goal, and definately Jay for the second.

We always play well against teams that stand of us and let us play our own game, we never produce against teams that harry and battle which the K's did no 4 was fouling all night and got away with it, defending was shocking should of taken a leaf out of his book and when we shoot and score we are still not encouraged to do more of it to many times it's one pass to many very dissapointing.
