PRE - MATCH GOOD NEWS - Ground

Went to Hartsdown Park. No appliances on site yet but that wasnt on the agenda for today anyway, though am sure like me we were all hoping. Contractors were on site walking round the ground. KP,Vicky,Gary Lever and 3 other males whom I assume to be the architect and contractors.

I spoke to Gary Lever personally,one-on-one and asked about when actual works on the ground will commence and his reply was that they would be starting within days. He has assured me of this. A possible monday or tuesday of next week would be the start. This is not a further enforced delay but all within the planning process. When I asked him about the time scale we have left he also assured me that the actual build of the stadium will not take as long as we all imagine. It will be done easily in the time we have left and maybe

even earlier. The main time sapping element is bringing in the topsoil which will be coming from away. Didnt ask where.

He also told me that all the contractors were now on board and getting ready to invade Hartsdown park with their expertise and staff.

MR.Lever seems like a very nice person and his words for the re-build were very sincere i.m.o.

I gave him our thanks and told him that we were all frustrated at the waiting but he again assured me that works will commence very early next week.

This is not a fob off i.m.o. and getting the vibes from him can really see this taking off from the time he mentioned.

I am sure, without my personal guarantees, that this ground will ,once it starts next week, be erected very quickly.

Seems all the draw backs that could have arisen have now been looked at and covered.

So to sum up. Contractors met today and walked round the ground to finalise things for the final time. Works will certainly begin early next week. Stadium will be erected wihin the time allowed and possibly earlier. There is no worries on that score.

Now with all that good news, we have to go to Ashford tonight to spur on the players to a hopeful victory.

No doubt some of you will want to ask KP questions tonight and am pretty sure that he will confirm,if asked, most,if not all, that which I have forwarded to you. Please note that tonight though is more important for the game itself so am sure Keith would just like to spectate. But as he has mentioned to us previously will not shirk any question that may be asked of him.

ITS GOING TO HAPPEN GUYS AND GIRLS, off the pitch. Now lets make it happen ON the pitch. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

But of course if we wre to lose tonight and again on Saturday, then relegation would be a distinct possibility. Can not help wondering if that is what certain people are holding fire on.Waiting to see what our future on the pitch looks like next week.Because if we were relegated the continued groundsharing in another league would be allowed.Just niggling, nagging doubts thats all SOORY!!!!!!!

Starting next week on the ground will have had nothing to do with our on-field activities. Its just the way things have panned out and gone according to plan.I.M.O.

Am sure the ground will get sorted no matter what league we are in. Anyway thats going to be the conference south league.

[color:"blue"]Agree with Cookie here, a continued Groundshare makes no sense at all, it severs the Club from the bulk of the gate money (KP said at meeting we are sometimes getting as little as £35 from a home match) also deprives us of advertising revenue, concession revenue etc. Without these revenues someone has to dip into their own pockets for costs like wages, travelling expenses etc.etc.

groundshare is not an option if we dont get the ground we are finished.even if we go into the ryman league it will make little difference to gates. unless we start winning then they will quickly increase as they did 4 years ago.gates will be better winning in alower division than losing in a higher one
