Described at Tug Of War's unattractive little brother, I've gone for 1983's Pipes Of Peace by Paul McCartney today.

I originally bought this in 1989, and like most of my Macca albums, haven't given it too much attention since. Listening to it now, it becomes quite obvious why.

The title track is quality, of course, but there's really not much else of note on this one.

A couple of duets with Michael Jackson (Say Say Say and the lesser known The Man) and a decent enough ballad in So Bad (although if my memory serves, this was the b-side to the Pipes Of Peace single anyway)

The rest is fairly sub-standard.

Except, of course, the inclusion as a bonus track of Thornsy's favourite, The Frog Chorus, or We All Stand Together, to give it its actual title.

I'll defend that song to anyone who wants to knock it.

It's an easy target, but I bet most people who slag it off haven't heard it for twenty years, and have forgotten how well orchestrated it actually is.
