I can't argue with that, and am not saying that Che is the answer to our problems or anything, but the point is, as Student Scum indicated, that no-one has since bettered his 14-goal season in 2002-2003.

Of course, as you say, Roy's record at the end of last season was far more prolific, and had he played the whole season in that vein the returns would have been mightily impressive. However, his scoring record this season can only make one speculate whether last season's record was just a one-off.

Evans was too small and too lighweight. He scored goals in the reserves but then so did Garry Abbott.

He's hardly prolific at Braintree either.

He will be forever in my mind for his performance away at Leigh, the other 12 who were there know exactly what I mean.
