Beauwaters Deal completed

Recommended Posts

I am sure Beauwaters can make £100 profit on a day but I seriously doubt that it can repeat that every day of the year.

I am sure that the club would not go full time on the off chance that they can knock out enough alcopops at beauwaters to fund it....Brian no doubt has another ace up his sleeve

A lot of work will be needed to turn Beauwaters profitable, so don't expect anything in the way of a contribution in the short term.

Of course we will be able to help by joining and making use of the facilities. As soon as I have details about membership I will let you know.

Instrumental in ensuring that this deal went through was Cllr Burden the leader of Gravesend Council.

Many of us were happy to e-mail him when he made his comments regarding Gillingham, so it might be a good idea if those same people were now to e-mail him and thank him for his work on our behalf.

Although I appreciate your sentiments on this item David, could it be that the e-mails you refer to could have had some bearing on the end result, in that Cllr Burdens conscience could have been motivated by the above mentioned. Even so, a great job done and dusted.

Sorry to go off thread for a moment, but I was delighted to see that the "Woodshed Theatre Group" (Section 2, para 3, GNFC news) have been found an alternative home at Beauwater. For those not familiar with Woodshed.

As far as I'm aware this is a splinter of Chicken Shed but the Gravesend and district edition. They bring the perfoming arts to children of all walks of life disabled or not, in that the children participate in the perfoming arts.

Again my apologies for going off thread.

Actually that's not the case, and the request came from higher up the food chain.

Don't be silly

There is a serious point here. I do know that the last round of e-mails did have an effect, and with an important meeting coming up, it will do no harm at all if we show Cllr Burden that we appreciate it when he does something to help us.

So let's e-mail him on john.burden@gravesham.gov.uk and give him the credit he deserves.

Was it a positive effect though?

What is to be discussed at the important meeting coming up?

I'm more then happy to write to him thanking the councillor for his involvement in Beauwaters.

It is a meeting of the Kent Thameside Delivery Board, which has a major say in the masterplan for the area, including whether there should be a new Stadium built.
