GRAND NATIONAL - Saturday

 

So here it is again.Off topic from football really but hows about having a "guess" on a fancy for the big race this saturday.

 

IT TAKES TIME 33/1 Topical tip Re: Margate Football Clubs 2-3 year fight to get back home and survive. Dont know if it will run yet or what its form is at the moment but it is a runner with a name that sums up these past two years. This isn't important. How much can i stress that we are in a relegation battle, in case you haven't noticed! Focus on getting behind the team tomorrow and getting the 3 points, not who is going to win the Grand National!

No I hadnt noticed we are in a struggle and that a win tomorrow night is essential.

Are you the only one who knows then? Of course not!

I know to some of us that this club is everything but there really is a life outside football, there really is. We want to get the points tomorrow night,we want a start to the ground,we want to stay up and get back to normality but with those aspects already covered I felt,as is the norm at this time of the year to introduce the Grand National subject. Like AM.F.1 says it is a distraction and made with that in mind. Also thought it coincidental that some of the runners are named after our struggle and delays so to speak. Dont take it too seriously now. The seriousness comes tomorrow night as you rightly say.

Who knows, tomorrow we could have a MINI SENSATION when our HEROIC boys make it a PIECE OF CAKE to get us OVER THE FIRST hurdle towards our retention of a place in the league.

Am I the only one who thinks this is terrific fun?

Mind you, I am not very good with the horses, a few years ago I had a few goes in my local wine bar Grand National sweepstake, picked three out of the first four, won a shedload of money, told everyone the drinks were on me and it ended up costing me 32 quid extra. Had a very good afternoon though, even if I had an extremely sore head afterwards.

Maybe if the team dont score in the first half and dont play well CK will keep them in a small DARK ROOM and tell then ONLY ONCE to get their fingers out. CK may threaten to bring on a RED STRIKER to do the business. We mustn't (TOU)- LOUSE -(LATREC)tomorrow nght. We need some SUPREME GLORY.

The weather forecast said it may be ARCTIC JACK tomorrow night so when you look for the crowd you might find ITS ONLY ME. But if you take the BRIGHT APPROACH there mey be enough of us to give the BOYS HURRAH for being LORD OF THE TURF at Homelands when we win by a DOUBLE HONOUR.

 

Meanwhile Sandy has called in a RISK ASSESSOR who has told him the club is JUST IN DEBT so he thinks he is being a SMARTY, acting like a NATIVE EMPEROR. But our Mr Lever says NEVER COMPROMISE and when we win our FIRST GOLD trophy, whilst watching the results of the next election, the council will be up FRENCHMANS CREEK and we will all be saying WHERE ARE THEY NOW.
