KK Opara

Sorry, me again.

We signed Opara yesterday and he is due to make his debut for us at Hemel tomorrow. Is he a good player? I know he played a few games for Enfield after leaving you last season and has had a six game ban since.

Any ideas?

Don't hold your breath...

We had him on loan at the start of last season - he started with a bang 6 goals in 5 games or something like that...... Downhill from there i'm afraid. Potentially he's got the lot, strong, quick good in the air, two good feet but his attitude leaves much to be desired, particularly when he rejoined us permanently after leaving Orient. After that inital burst he only scored once more from September to Christmas.... Was sent off a couple of times for us as well as Enfield... If you can get him to play well you've got a star but as I said, don't hold your breath.

Cheers Simon.

John Kendal and Jeff Wood don't take any cr*p from their players, so I suppose there's a chance he may change. You never know. Against Div One defences, he might have a field day.

Found on the Leyton Orient site:

KK (Kelchie-Krisantos) Opara Born Oweri (NIG) 21-12-81

KK Opara is a Nigerian striker signed for a nominal fee from Colchester United in December 2000. A few weeks ago, he was sacked by Colchester for 'persistant gross conduct.' United retained his registration however, hence the nominal fee. Hopefully, Taylor will calm down the rebellious streak of the nippy Nigerian, but his record with dealing with such players isn't great. He hasn't scored in his three starts and seventeen sub appearances for Colchester, and Teamtalk.com says, ''his finishing sometimes lets him down.'' The United fans were surprised at his release, so maybe his signing isn't as much of a gamble as it sounds.

Found this on the Dagenham web site:

We was finaly back to league football. And with it came a brilliant 9 wins in a row. Also, KK Opara came in, easily the worst dagger of the season. It wasn't ability that gave him this honour, it was his attitude, and work rate, I was relieved when he went. Danny Hayzleden also joined, he looks very good, and could go on to be a great at the club.

I hope it works out OK for you.
