Come on Adrian, unless Greenie is fit, give us a couple of games at full back to give us some tactical nous.Alex can do a job in midfield but not full back.

 

It was'nt that long ago that AC was playing left back for us in the conference, keeping decent conference forwards at bay and overlapping down the left.At the moment thats where his skills would be best utilised.

That may weaken the midfield a tag until JK can play, but with Alex at full back we are conceding on average a goal a game via that flank and it must stop.Its as though we arte expecting to concede goals at moment and players and supporters are just waiting for the first goal to go in against us.That mindset has got to cease and a significant change by putting AC to defence could mean everyone starts to think differently and start afresh

Alex has played some good games in midfield however and can make a real nuisance of himself to the opposition in midfield by buzzing around and breaking up opposition possession-

Our bad run over Christmas coincided with Alex at wing back-surely CK must know it does not work-there is another option-Adrian Clarke to full back

 

Whilst AC has been playing well, we are not getting his quality runs down the flank anymore so if he went to full back-where he used to play well, we could benefit from a few runs down the flank again and quality crosses to Darren.

 

If you line up with your biggest, best ,mentally strongest players at the back, that sends a positive message forward to the rest of the team; gives the midfield more confidence without looking over their shoulders and filters a positive vibe forward.

We need the captain leading from the rear where he can see whats going on and then surging forward;but giving others confidence that all is ok at the back

 

Barnett could also be given a bit more freedom to play a bit further forward-he can play ok in midfield so from time to time supplement the midfield.

 

Rocky to play a bit deeper to use his ball skills and ball retention which gives time to the others-he is a better bet playing deep than CHe.

Benevides and AC can supplement the midfield.

 

Also Edwards to go back to a proper sweeper role.He cant seem to play as a defender,(everyone leaves it to each other) but as a proper sweeper does a good job and in second half ar Bognor was throwing himself around everywhere to block shots-thats the Edwards we want to see and need for the next 5 games

 

Better still if Green can play-even if he does not kick or tackle, at least he has some positional sense to play at left back.

Some interesting points about the team. Edwards has made several mistakes in the last few games so sweeper may be his best position. I like the idea of Baptiste in midfield. Might take a bit of pressure off him aswell. Clrarke is solid at the back but without Keister I feel it would make the midfield very weak unless Baptiste plays like last season.

I would tend to go for Moses up front with Che for the first half. His pace could certainly cause the defense some major problems, but put Darren on second half when tired legs kick in. Darren has an impact and is a constant threat at goal, but he does not seem to have enough in the tank to carry it for the full 90 minutes. We need him on strong when it matters, and IMO that is in the second period.

Agree with you there MF,Moses and Che up front but please not the long ball up and over stuff,with Ben Martin in defence if Gate do that he will have a easy time on Tuesday.

Hope we are a bit sharper at defending corners aswell due to the St.Albans aerial threat
