You were getting 800+ before the financial problems.

that is true yellow and we'll have them back again in due course....truth is that people want to watch teams that are plying for promotion and playing in high profile games..

our much publicised problems have inevitably led to a reduction in our crowds but likewise we have increased our attendances each year since we took over and that will be so again this year...I would guess an average of around 600 plus which is 120 more than last years average of 480ish...

so the 4 seasons would be

2001/2 70ish

2002/3 280ish

2003/4 480ish

2004/5 600ish

if I had been a 'floater' then I would have gone to BS or Grays yesterday...as indeed many of them did...they (floaters) pays their money and its up to the clubs to offer value for that money....'floaters' don't pay to watch a poor film or theatre show in droves and 'floating' footie fans are just the same...they want top entertainment for their money...

I imagine there were a few that went to watch Billericay or Grays yesterday seeing as both Southend and Colchester played on Friday night and the Hammers were away.

Our attendance was a bit above average so think a few floaters may have come to see us.

Your away support in terms of numbers is excellent. I imagine there's only Weymouth that can compete with the numbers you take to away games.

Too right, DH.

Anyway...all things considered, I thought our average gate is rather respectable. It's a credit to the people of our town, and to the harworking, dedicated people at our club for sticking with the roller-coaster.

Better than roundabouts, as they say.

he he...nice one PM but in truth we are all entitled to go where we please for our entertain ment....we are a fickle bunch and the tribalistic nature of a clubs hardcore supporters will never be enough to maintain a campaign...(although they are truly the heartbeat of any club)...

no...we must provide the match days entertainment on all fronts...facilities....drink....food and comfort as well as success on the pitch.....(jeeeezzz...who'd run a football club)...

if we don't we shall lose the areas floating support and at Hx that has happened because of our problems....we built it from nowt three years ago and we shall rebuild from the 600ish now....

grays have been the major beneficiaries and good luck to them...they are playing exciting footie and competing on all fronts....

we must catch them up in due course and reverse the trend and the good people at the club are up for that challenge....
