Eton Manor 3 v 1 Concord Rangers

Great team performance today. Our keeper had 1 save to make all day and it could have been 5 or 6 for us. We played last 30 mins with 10 men. Our player sent off for planting an absolutely stinging punch on a Concord player. Terrible to see and for no reason. Luckily we were up 2-1 and we didn't lose. Some great performnaces today. Our back 3 were quality, Ray Coker was excellent at left wing back. Upfront Chris Hammond and Billy Powell were excellent. But Doc in centre midfield was superb. Probably one of the most accomplished players I've seen in this league. All this and we can't train because of no facilities. Well done today boys. A few players were out today, so the players who came in really took their chances and now they have the shirts it up to them to keep them. On this showing when the training situation is sorted I expect good things next season from the manor.

Top result yesterday. Well pleased for all the people involved at the Manor, Whitelock decision to switch to a 3-5-2 paid dividends as they crowded out Rangers.

 

Manor's Steve Reading played really well, he is coming on in leaps and bounds, The back 3 looked really solid. Mr 100% Tony Marsh time and time again proving an absolute brick in defence. New Boys Billy Powell and Ray Coker were full of running, both great additions to the team. Powell and Hammond superb partnership in the making there. And Paul Docherty! What can I say fantastic performance, never shirks from a challenge, Concord must be gutted about letting him go!

 

Great team performance form the Manor. Concord came to play proper football, only one silly incident during the whole game must be said caused by a Manor player, prevented it being an exemplary spectacle of Football.

Is this the one and only Billy Powell of East Ham United and maybe even, Beckton fame ? If so, he knows the ESL well and was always a favourite of Reuben Ganes '.

Your right Mr Chairman the same Billy Powell.I heard he rang Kirk and offered his services and already you can see the difference it has gave everybody a big lift at the club.Billy at the moment is about 50% so give him some games and you never know.Kirk tried to get Billy to play when they were at Wooodford? Echo those comments from Chopper- I thought Manor showed a lot of ability in the first 20 mins of the game against us. It would have been different had you taken your chances. Well Played.

 

By the way is Billy Powell the skinniest player you have ever had on your books? That boy needs a big pan of stew?

Shaun, funny you should say that about Billy, as you know he came on mid way through the 2nd half and there was some doubt wheather he was going on at all, because the boy had two giant burgers from your Food stool 10 minutes before going on!!
