look at the standard of our club. and how many players we have. how much do u think we could realistically afford to pay our players.

thats my point, we have paid players and politics got in the way off the pitch affected the boys on the pitch.

 

things are different now, we are starting to work as an unit, together and hopefully forever.

 

you have been lucky with funding, and now we should be, then we can attract a better standard of player, then what will happen the league clubs will come along.

 

loyalty is very strong at Romford, and if you asked most players is the grass greener what would they say, you got one ex romford player what does he say

Im sure your story is much the same as the Towns, sheer hard work to get where you have, from that hard work you get results and progress.

Rushden are an example of the opposite but are now in a similar situation to us both, working without Max Griggs money being thrown around.

Do your math. about 18 players. takings of 50.50 going to the club, about £90. 90 divided by 18 is... whatever, not much.

 

this is stupid to even think about. it dont happen. none of them are there for money. or they'd get a second job. something that pays!!

a figure of speech Gazza, my other role within the club, grant fund raiser. I am fully aware of what it takes to make the application, not an easy job, and to be honest, many wont have a clue how to put a grant together, but love the money when it comes in.

Do you not remember the state of the club back in the 80's? Nomads, debts, awful results week in, week out!

The fans got them back to the Valley & slowly built the club back up.

I think you will find they are in a very small group of clubs totaly in the black.

thanks for explaining, and yes very few clubs are, but, you need certain people doing certain jobs and not overloading them, play to your strengths
