According to my sources in the Mayor's office. Ken Livingstone is concerned about the lack of ethnic represenataion in local non-league soccer.

 

He is currently having talks with lower level representatives to devise a charter for equality. It would basically mean that when clubs hand in their team sheet to the ref, there will be a space for the ethnic origin of the player to be entered next to his name.

 

The data will be collected by the Mayor's office and those clubs falling below set targets will be asked to explain their equal opportunities policy and if they don't provide a satisfactory explanation, Ken may use his influence to ensure them clubs receive no funding until they sort themselves out.
