why diont we try this

Recommended Posts

Nice idea but doesn't boost attendances.

For it to bring in merely the same amount of revenue, it would need 5 times as many kids to come to our matches as compared to now. That doesn't happen.

Attendances mean nothing when altered by gimmicks, we need an increase of full-paying spectators.

The Junior Fleet scheme costs £12:00 they get in for £3:00 a match but you also get 4 x Adults get in for half price vouchers which mean you can break even going to just two matches.

The bit my kids like best though is they get birthday and christmas cards signed by the players.

Absolute bargain. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Its a very good scheme for children who would go to the matches anyway but it does not address the issue of increasing the attendance figures, neither does 'kids go fee' or 'ladies day'.

I still think the best way to increase the fan base is to hand out free tickets for under 12's for specific matches at primary schools.

Obviously there would be the cost of printing the tickets to be taken into account and most of the tickets would be binned but you would be reaching out to potential fans who do not already go and those that do use their tickets would almost certainly drag mum or dad along with them.
