Positives and Negatives

travelling down last night did not fill me with dread for some reason. Arriving i saw plenty of cars and around 60 in the clubhouse which was good and two meetings going on with the rest watching the telly.

The official forum started on time and the telly was turmned off. We all waited with baited breath for the news from Keith. It duly arrived Tuesday 5th April. Iasked what will be done then, fearing surveyors or measuring or something. No the platform for the pitch and then the surrounds. Mass relief from all.

KP went on to say that the embargo will not be lifted yet something to do with the council again. There was not too much council baiting at this stage.

The business plan goes on and is still being agreed upon. The amount of money loaned will need to be paid back at 2000 squid a week, seems an aweful lot to me.

Still the meeting was upbeat especially after the good news on the ground but unfortunately it did not stop some ranting on who pulled the ground down. One outburst got a tad nasty between a fan and Roy Ovenden but this fortunately past on to future things not the past.

Q's to CK included how can we get out of the relegation zone and the effect the embargo had and the other problems to how many of the squad will remain next year. Well one will cos Billy has been promised a testamonial so h'll be there.

CK praised his squad and the fans for their efforts and promised to do his best. Also he said if the board were happy he would remain manager. YIPEE we all cried.

There may be 2 new directors in the summer but money in large amounts had not come forward save Alan Bowen's 10 grand.

Well there was lots of legal stuff but generally the assembled 60 odd were relieved at the start date. The bar looked good in fact the best club house i had seen ever at hartsdown. The chair of the supporters thanked Keith and the manager and the directors.

Keith made a final plee about the advertising on the hordings around the ground this being a good idea to me as i have a son in law who is a managing director of a big electrical firm. Worth trying if you know anyone.

Well to get away from the fag smoke i spent 10 minutes outside remembering those days of yor! The return to Hartsdown cannnot come quick enough.

The pay back for the loan is high and I think that the Supporters and MISA really need to get some fundraising going, particularly throughout the summer. Lets get the ideas coming in. Was there any clue as to how much needs to be raised to clear the embargo?

I think that once the ground starts to materialise the sponsors will become less harder to acquire. As for those cars outside the ground Geoff, it reminded me of old match days. Good summing up of proceedings, except to mention that R.O. thought and still thinks that S.E. and his words are always true. HA!ha!

Top stuff. The celebration 30th April will be just deserved. Everyone has stuck with the club, and at times it might not be a case of relegation but extinction, and we will all deserve a drink come rain or sunshine on the last day of the season. It finally feels like EVERYONES hard work is coming to a head.

Smiling Politely

They probably have! Have been a friend of R.O.s and his lovely wife Pat for many years and though never doubting his allegiance to this club,as a supporter,he really did amaze me last night with his insistance that what S.E says is gospel.Despite knowing that proof was around as to the contrary. R.O. you really showed yourself up last night and though I would still like to be classed as a friend outside of football, my thoughts towards you on the footballing front have diminished a little after your outburst. SORRY. But you really had me feeling sorry for you last night. Hope to tell you soon to your face just what a bloomer you made last night,if you dont know already. Thanks by the way for funding every single penny towards that sham of a meeting you held at the Winter Gardens. It really wasnt nessasary and it didnt do the council as much good as you thought it might. Bad tactical move there from you and S.E.
