Hello all,

I'd be interested in your feedback from this season's matchday programme. What do you all think of it? Please be honest (or complimentary!). If you have any suggestions, ideas or would like to contribute, I'd love to hear from you! Either post your message here or email me at: programme@sloughtownfc.net

Many thanks, Glen.

Would like to say blooming well done Glen for all your hard work on the proramme...

my particular favourites are the mini interview type things with the players...My only suggestion would be to perhaps see more indepth ones in the future? (Players willing of course)

Saw one copy which was left over in the V.I.P bar during a Windsor capital league game.

One of the better ones. Not full of adverts like Eastleigh's and not only 1 new page a week like ours!

I do think the presentation of ours is one of the, if not THE, best in the league, it's just the content and lack of pages which lets it down. (32 page length). Ideally it would need to be at least 44 pages, which would mean an increase in adverts going in there to assist in covering the costs of production & printing. Of the 12 pages, perhaps 4 or 6 could be taken up with adverts from local companies and/or main club sponsors. This would leave an extra 6-8 pages to fill with some form of new content presuming the existing structure is good to remain.

You could have an opposition page where it's written by a supporter of the team you're playing (blatently stolen from Steve's (Hendon) idea!!), form tables, attendance tables, detailed player profiles, match action pictures in combination with a report from the last first team/reserve match, perhaps a larger player sponsorship page - i.e. spread it out over 2 pages and maybe increase what can be sponsored (shirts, shorts, socks etc) so that more people can get involved, increased reserve team news/activities, STST pages.

Plenty of possibilities depending on what can and can't be done with the number of pages.

Maybe i'm biased, but i like the comment pieces most - for example, i think John Tebbits article about the Councils new sports strategy really good, and i think it should be reprinted on our site, on the slough forum and possibly in one of the local papers as a comment piece. So how about a 'Letting Off Steam' column written by other rebels?

We could also do a point scoring for other grounds - what the ground was like, the food, beer, friendliness, disabled access, programme, fans, stewards - oh and of course the pre match kick about. Couldn't someone like Radders do this? Didn''t he use to do a zine in the distant past?

How about a Daly's Diary or something from the team - we rarely get a player's eye view. If none of them feels like writing anything, how about letting Charlie develop her journalistic skills as a ghost writer, and interview some? Should stop Marcus getting complacent as well!

I think the programme is a good read and a lot better than many programmes I have seen, although I did enjoy Ramblings from the tea bar queue as well as John Tebbit's articles.

Some lower level sponsorships might help as well as somebody else has already suggested, making them more affordable might encourage more people to participate.

In many other programmes you would see:

Managers page (we have one of these)

Captains page (we don't have)

Secretarys page (we don't have)

Chairmans page (we don't have)

It does take a bit of time, and if the people are not on email then it takes further time for those notes to be typed up and prepared for the programme. Good idea though.

I can't offer an opinion on the programme as, although I buy one every match, Nathan always hogs it.

No I don't. I always put it in the bag or to you when I have finished with it. You just don't bother reading it <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
