Actually, a Steward scolded me for having the outrageous audacity to swear at the Ref in the televised Cup game against Notts County.

May I take this opportunity to apologise for this greivous crime, tarnishing Gravesends image in front of billions of viewers. Apologies go out to the Jesuit/Stormtrooper/Stewards and the GNFC Committee for this crime, for any inaccuracies in spelling and commentary, for playing knock down ginger on Mulberry road when I was a kid, and for my right of Centre political views.

Question for you all. What will happen if none of the stewards turned up or refused to steward the game?

If the stewards refused to do thjere job then there would be no game as the game cannot go without stewards being present.What is it with you people on this forum don't you have nothing better to write about or discuss than sl***ing of the stewards or anything else that takes your fancy. I agree with C. Baker when he mention on another post if you think you could do better then see him and get an aplication form of him if not leave the stewards alone and help them IF YOU SEE SOME THING WRONG REPORT IT. This is your club your ground and your team. If god forbids the Gils move to this area and we have to share grounds you will not beable to stand as it will probably be all seater, and we don't want that at this level. As there nothing like going to a match and standing on the terraces and cheering on your favourite team or player(s).

For the record, the stewards, on the whole, DO do a good job. It's just isolated incidents that I have witnessed and seen the choice of action taken that leaves me bewildered.

 

Just because without them, matchday wouldn't take place, it doesn't mean that their actions cannot be questioned.
