Final league position sweepstake.

I mentioned on another thread about a sweepstake on our finishing position so how about this for an idea, just for a bit of fun? Before the game this Saturday against Hampton, anyone wanting to participate sends me a private message on here or an e-mail to ian@sloughtownfc.net suggesting where they think we'll finish. Entry is one pound.

 

The winner(s) then get the share of the total prize fund which could be all of the money if you're the only person to choose that position or a share if others have guessed the same. Obviously the more people that guess the same position as you means you'll win less but that way, the odds are longer for the more unlikely final positions. I've already put Optimistic down for 24th, even though there's only 22 in our division but that's just how rubbish we are.

 

Once I've received all the predictions I'll publish a list of how many people have gone for which position! Only stipulation is that people wishing to enter must be able to get their money to me at the latest by the end of the season.

 

So who's interested? If you are, let me know although don't declare your guess on the open forum. Any takers?

Instead of sharing a prize for guessing the same winning position,points attained could define the nearest winner,good idea yours Ian.

i know i mentioned this on the other thread but if you try it again at the start of the season at games you could raise a lot of money for the supporters trust, go half and half with the winner.

I suggest you just hand out forms at the games, and if anyone wants to enter they can hand it in wth payment at the supporters trust shed.

Good idea Kevin. People guess position and points total with the closest or spot on guess, getting the prize pot. If there are more then one totally correct answer they can split it but that'll cut down the number of likely winners.

 

ARAAS - you'll always find me behind the goal at any game and everyone there will know who I am. Try looking for the one shouting expletives within earshot of Gary's camera work and that's likely to be me!

thanks gary, i will bear that in mind, but i wont be at a game until at least the Hendon game next thursday, i shall try then if thats ok. if not i hope to be at the staines match and failing that, the heybridge game!!

There's currently a spread of 7 positions and a massive fifteen points in the guesses! In other words, someone is five whole wins more confident than someone else!

 

Guesses have to be in BEFORE the Hampton game, remember.
