GNFC don’t have a hooligan problem so don’t try and tarnish our club with one eh?

I don't normally reply to people who can't be bothered to put names to their post's but rightnow I feel obliged.

GNFC doesn't have a Holigan problem but Gravesend does have a Chav problem. How were the stewards to know what the Chavs were going to do?

“A chav problem”? What town doesn’t? They’re little kids with baseball caps, tracksuit trousers and hooded tops – they’re hardly yardee gangsters. Gravesend had crime way before wanabee teenage wiggers emerged. Half of them were under 16 and I’ve seen more meat on vegetarian’s fork so they didn’t exactly look very menacing to me.

Stewards do a very important job but with all due respect to them if they can’t tell the difference between chavs and hooligans then they shouldn’t be doing the job they’re doing. An overreaction like the one against Canvey can be costly for the club and provide unwanted negative attention for the club.

Thanks Daz

I was the fleet regular who had the bother witht the stewards. It gets worse! Here's my side of the story...

Thought I'd take advantage of the kids for free offer and bring my 7 year old daughter to the ground to enjoy the sunshine if nothing else. On way to ground she says she doesn't want to go to football as it's boring and for boys - fair comment. I make call to wife and arrange to have her picked up from outside the ground on wife's way home from work (she finishes at 3).

Wife duly turned up at 3.20 and I tried to enter the ground via my usual season ticket turnstile. All turnstiles were closed so I look through the gate and luckily see a mate on his way to the loo. I ask him to get a steward to let me in and one comes over and tells me I have to go to the away section.

Me: "But isn't it segregated?"

Steward 1:"Yes mate, but dont worry someone will let you through"

Me: "cheers"

Scene 2- Forest Green end I've been let in by a steward who soon disappears. I look to my left and see the gate next to the stand is locked preventing me from walking all the way round. No steward in sight. I decide to walk through the FGR fans and sneak under the segregating meshy stuff. I slip under the first one unnoticed. I'm now in "no mans land"

Steward 2: "Oi you were do you think your going?"

Me: I'm a GNFC ST holder, I got her late and had to come through this entrance"

Steward 2: "You have to walk all the way round"

Me: "But it's locked and I cant get through"

Steward 2: "A Steward will let you through"

Me: "We'll your a steward can you let me through"

Steward 2 (jobsworth): "No this is my spot, go and wait by the gate"

Me: (having now missed nearly half an hour of the game):"I only need to go through there and thats what I'm going to do"

Steward 2: "If you got under there, I'll get you evicted"

So I shrugged my shoulders and took the plunge. There now ensues a four person manhunt and I'm the prey.

A mate goes and talks to the pack and pleads my innocence and I'm let off with a slapped wrist..

What a shambles...give a man a fluorescent coat and see what happens. Perhaps I should have told him the bins to be emptied were outside.

...as I am in moan mode today I still did not get a reply as to why a steward tried to detain me in the Swanscombe End at the end of the BS match when I was trying to leave even though I was resplendent in my Fleet shirt and obviously trying to get OUT rather than start a fight or other hostilities! Lets hope their promised training happens before too long otherwise God knows how they will cope when all 4 sides are open again.

also i recognised a couple of people causing the trouble from my school, the trouble is these so called fans have never been before and will never go again.

I recognised the same group. A load of kids now in year 11 who I taught briefly for English last year.

What amazes me even more is that these 10 people that i recognised go to st. georges

Religion knows no boundaries...why should you be so amazed?
