Billericay 3 Chelmsford 1

Okay then - consider this...

1. The ref was right there and gave it instantly

2.There is no such thing in life as 'guarantee'

3.Why not ask Gazza?

Now some for you....

1.Your no.10 was persistently fouling throughout the first half (jumping into players cos he couldn't jump and head a ball) and was not booked - why?

2.Your player did not kick the ball back to our

keep after he had played into touch to let yor trainer onto the pitch - why?

3.Your player deliberately kicks the ball away down the touchline and the ref, unbelievably, runs 30 yards to bring the ball back, yet no booking - why?

Or did you see some thing different....?

so kevin ccfc when your player went straight through jamie dormer, and he was on the floor and needed the physio, your players didnt even kick it out and when leon hunter did ur team didnt throw it bk, so at the end of the day we got 3 points u didnt and it was a good game

i think that paaaaaaaaaaaaaaat should be mentioned because his header was quality and that got us on our way, but he never really looked troubled that he was getting beaten to some headers.

also i think that it wil be hard for trotty to get bk in the team at the moment pat and macca are doing good at centre back

I thought it was a pen. It looked like Pat sat down won the ball in the orginal challenge but then foul the man, which, as the commentators discussed during a game on tv (was it England?) is still a foul.

I thought everyone played well for us, Matt Game doesn't normally get much of a mention but I thought he was excellent on the wing.

First time I have seen Chelmsford play and I was surprised how poor they were, the keeper looked like the only player who was going to score (and not from the spot). Have they always played like that or have they got carried away since he scored against Braintree?

I expect it may be tougher in a few weeks. Hope not.

Terrific result today. Being a finalist at Reading uni, this was only my third game of the season so I have had to rely on this forum for updates on the teams progress and I have to say that it was a massively impressive performance. Firstly, have to mention the defence, thopught that Macca and Pat were superb, dominant in the air (mostly) and on the ground against two proven goalscorers. Henty and DK were also very good, both hard in the challenge and composed on the ball. What was really nice to see was the effort from the subs, Cuz and Ross, both of who might argue that they should be starting. THey both came on and gave it everything. The team spirit is clearly very good, everyone pulling in the right directin and some real competiton for places. Must admit though that it was the first time I had seen Mel play and everytime he goes for a punch I had kittens, albeit under some pretty physical challenges from Ansell. Speaking of which, during the bad old days, I for one was actullay sorry to see Willo and Ansell leave the club, but what was really nice for me was to watch them as established players at City and think to myself (What a wonderful world) that either wouldn't get near our current line up.

Thought that the ref was ok throughout, although a little quick with the whistle and from where I was the Pen was a dead cert, a rash challenge really. Such a pity that Nath didnt get his hat trick, if it was any other keeper, I doubt that they would have saved it, but Nicholls is obvously a class act and to put three past him was a real achievement. Having said that, the marking for all three goals was fcking rubbish!

Great to see NL packed again, and I think that alot of first timers will be back for more. The atmosphere was electric throughout and for that you have to pay credit to both sets of fans, although I appreciate Gazzas comment, I would like to think that what he recieved was meant with no real malice as I thought the nater netween the two sets of fans as the attitude of the lads on the pitch was FIRST CLASS

Roll on next week, starting to get nerous already

And? Im a finalist at Cardiff and ive made 18! Only joking. There were plenty of people there who wouldnt normally make it, and good to see old faces coming back.
As it goes i agree with pretty much everything you say. I dont think the boys at the back had their strongest game in the air, but they set themselves very high standards, and how can you argue when they kept quality players totally at bay for the whole game. Before today we had kept four clean sheets, and had it not been for the penalty that would have been five, i couldnt see them scoring from open play. Ive said before that when our defense (defence?) is solid its a foundation that the whole team builds on. When weve had our down times its usually been a few defensive errors that have let us down, but when the defense play well, we play well. Those boys are the unsung hereos (although Paaat was certainly a 'sung' hero today), and they deserve every credit.
Gamo was good, as was Dormer before he went off, i thought Forbes was excellent, and Leon was much improved from Friday i think, especially his delivery. Top lad. Armstrong was again very solid, and Nath was good value for his goals. Ross and Cuz also ran their hearts out for the team and cant be faulted.
As for Mel, i agree that he gets the fans nervy, but i still cant judge him as a keeper, as in the three games ive seen him he hasnt been seriously tested (apart from the pen obviously).
A top performance from every single man out there in a blue shirt, well done all of em. If we play our top game on Saturday im sure well be top of the league by Saturday night. How sweet that would be to be able to sing 'we are top of the league' at 5 on Saturday. Bring it on!

Touche...

And you've got significantly further to travel up the M4, yep I know my commitment hasn't been all of that this season, the worst in 10 years actually. No excuses though, after all, its me that is missing out this season. Must admit that after last season, wasnt sure about JE's credentials and when the new ownership came about, I thought that he'd probably be on his way. But it just goes to show that a little faith produces results and we (well, some more than others Cardiff!!!) are seeing the beneifts of this continuity.

As a side issue, what on earth was Neil 'Razor' Ruddock doing at NL today? (Hovering suspiciously around the buffet bar, no doubt enjoying the best burgers in the league!!) suppose hes pals with Justin but you know how the old mind gets ticking!!

Only ribbing you Reading lad, i dont criticise others for how much they turn up. I began supporting in 97 or so, but there were a number of seasons when i rarely went, sometimes due to other engagements, sometimes due to lack of committment.

Was speaking to a couple of Chelmsford fans this evening who were praising JE's tactics, saying hed done well to counteract theyre style of play. Im always wary of new managers, but he has my full confidence now.

As for Razor, he comes down now and again i believe. I think he lives locally, and yes he is mates with Justin i believe.

As for the PA system, yes i agree entirely, you do have to strain to hear much, and i wasnt within blast radius when the teams were announced
