Billericay 3 Chelmsford 1

Bloody fantastic performance, there was only one team out there that was up for it. Not sure if the third goal was Nath or an own goal, but Nath deserved credit either way. Crowd was 1547, pretty impressive. Their penalty was their only shot i can remember. Mel was slightly troubled by a couple of hoofs into the box from their keeper, but that was about it. A thoroughly deserved win. The goal celebrations from the players and fans alike were fantastic. Nath could have had a hattrick late on when he hit a superb shot which the keeper tipped over. Great game, great result. Only two teams in the title race now as Braintree lost. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />. Roll on Saturday.

Thanks mjt, graceful in 'defeat'. Cant see you catching us to be honest. Can we catch Yeading? Hmm, well next Saturdays game is obviously HUGE, but even if we get a draw from it, therell still be six games to make up three points on Yeading, thats 18 points to be played for by both teams. Im confident we can do it, but well have to play bloody well to do it.

Think the most accurate comment on the penalty came from Matt Jones who said it was no different from the one that wasn't given for us against Salisbury a few weeks ago....

Overall we were much the better side today, Chelmsford looked poor mostly because we never gave them a kick in midfield. The lumps at the back had only one idea and that was an uneducated hoof down the pitch. Our defence was totally on top and there was no way they were going to score from open play. Elder was different class up front for us, donkey 5 had to resort to perpetually fouling him to stop him, and when that didn't work he lost his rag and threw the ball at Nathan... naughty naughty very naughty....

Somethings never change, after the game Wafford was straight onto his mobile, and Ansell was straight onto the guinness....

We never got going, a yard to slow to every ball and never created any chances. Very quiet day for Mel until the penalty. Thought we may have seen some more hefty challenges or bookings during the game. Neither linesman had a clue what they were doing but nothing new there.

Only grip was that your player should have given back the ball to Nichols after he had kicked it into touch so the trainer could come on for you injured lad. Very, very poor sportmanship kicking the ball back into touch again and right in the corner.

From your chat room

For all those who were behind the goal I wouldlike you to tell me whether you thought it was a penalty. Because from where I was standing I can guarentee you it wasn't. There appeared to be no contact on Cross and we were fortunate to get the consolation goal.

I hope you left the goods with Gazza for the paint fund.
