Why is it that nearly every week the man of the match award is given to someone who really just doesn't deserve it?

 

Maybe it because of the goal-line clearance, but Siggy really should've done better with his shots.

 

I think Drury played well, and although we dominated most of the match, they came closest to actually scoring.

 

Oh well...

 

And the point of bringing Essandoh on for 2 minutes was...? I'll let Liam off if Pinnock was injured. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I think we should've made subs a little earlier and didn't think Lovell should've gone off.

Truly dire.
Manager seems to lack any motivation, inspiration and imagination.
Why change an attacking midfielder for a defensive one.
Why leave the change of striker to 88 mins , AGAIN.
I'm afraid this lack of real idea, is starting to tell me Liam is out of his depth.

Of all the changes that could have been made, Jackson-Lovell was the last one I'd've gone for. Either Roy or Luke Moore should have been on as a third striker, and if Lovell was coming off, why can't we see Adrian Deane in action, or is he just there to make up numbers....?!

 

Edit: Ah, my mistake, it was Groombridge on the bench, not Moore!

Yes, what a shocker. Listened to Chas Webster on the way home from the match. He intimated that the Fleet did not even deserve a draw. FG should have won the match. The FG defence nullified the Fleet attack.

 

I must say that I was at the visitors end, and all I see were high balls coming in and being easily dealt with by the FG defence.

Doesn't Liam Daish see this, was he asleep in the first half whereby he could have changed tactics in the second half. Free kicks and corners wasted, where are the days when we had a player running in to latch on to a corner kick to the far post.

 

Whats with bringing on Roy in the dying minutes of the game. The managers tactics make no sense at all. I think he has had enough time to know the calibre of his players. I am not advocating for him to go, but it will be interesting to see what will happen when the new season is upon us. Somehow the motivation is missing, it looks like we will have to leave Stonebridge Road to the faithful 500? and come back when the Fleet are more consistent.

Thank goodness we had a good start to the season, or we would be lanquishing where FG are now.

Wow, that is just about the most boring game I have ever sen. It is a close call between that and last seasons trip to Northwich. I don't understand why Roy was brought on for two minutes, that was a wierd decision. Regarding the man of the match, why does it have to be presented after the game when everyone is either leaving or has left?

It was easy too see why FGR are languishing at the bottom of the league although harder to work out why we are not.

It looked like our players were going through the motions on a hot afternoon and we didn't deserve to win.

If Siggy hadn't got man of the match then who would have?

Roy's substitution on 90 minutes was surprising and at least 15 minutes too late, I can only assume that the manager was happy with the draw.

Unfortunately there is nothing left to play for this season so unless some of the players are going to work hard for next seasons contract I shouldn't be surprised to see a couple more performances like todays before the end of the season.

The most worrying aspect of it all is Liam's inabilty to change things when they plainly are not going well. Why not go 4-3-3 or even 3-4-3. Our performance was crying out for some sparkle, yet a negative, dull 0-0 draw appears to be the height of ambition for our new management team.

A serious question for Liam. Why play 4 in midfield if the defence hoof it forward to the front 2 every time they get it.

I don't like to keep harping on about the same subject but we sacrificed the semi-final of the Kent cup so the players would be fit for todays match....obviously well worth it.
