Sorry guys if this has already been mentioned/discussed previously, but does anyone know if we are planning a new home shirt for next season?

Please lets not get into another shirt thread dibacle, I've just read the previous thread about the price of the England shirts effecting the price of our new shirt.

Personally, I think shirts should only be changed upon a change of sponsor or manufacturer (unless the new strip has gone for the Crawley-style 'GLSfootball.com' legend?).

I raised the issue of new shirt in the club shop last week as I seem to be the only one to remember that when we changed shirts the last time we were told they would be used for the rest of the Gladwish deal time. - 3 years.

This now seesm to have been forgotten in an cynical attempt to get more money from us after a season and a half of the current shirt. I was told there would be no discount to take account of the broken promise and that "It was up to the club" but my comments would be passed on.

Having said that I have never liked our current shirt. Lets hope the new one has a collar again. I think the best one we have ever had was the Reporter classic the year we went up.

Wasn't that Shepherd Neame?

I quite like our home shirt - unless collars are done well, they tend to look naff on a cheapy football shirt. Still, as long as it's not like the seagull-sh!t one of a few years back - that was horrific.

...I agree you don't have to buy one but if I am right (anyone else remember what was said?) then the original promise should be honoured. Instead it will be grudge purchase buying the new one and with nothing to stop another change at any time in the near future. We got a discount if we had the previous shirt that lasted only a few months and this one is only about 18 months old now.

Seems we will have to buy a new shirt every 12 months to keep in step. I think it is taking the pee. How about a trade in plan like with an old motor?

Bloody hell, whats £30 a year? You pay 5 times this for your season ticket so whats the problem? I maybe speaking as a man who has very few bills to pay but I can't see the problem with paying out £30 for a new shirt. People are only moaning because it's a popular argument, if this was the norm it wouldn't really matter.

Come on Mr Holden lets hear your reply.

It does seem they've gone back on the three-season thing.

That said, most clubs change their kit every two years - I think the timing of the Gladwish sponsorship means we've had two changes in 18 months, so I wouldn't expect another for two years... unless Victor pulls out!!

..it is about being honest with the fans and not treating them with contempt. How are we mean't to increase our fan base if even loyal supporters feel ripped off without any explanation? It is not just the cost it is the priciple.

...And whilst I am moaning I don't think we should charge full price for friendlies next season as this might encourage a few more folks to turn up rather than fork out a tenner to watch a training session.

On a positive note I think Season Tickets have been and I hope remain good value!

What makes you think that (a) I have an opinion, and (B) anyone else is interested?
