I actually did a live update yesterday - whilst I have my laptop and internet access at Weymouth - I can't do everything - of course I could appeal for someone to do it for those who stay away - but sadly I am not sure if anyone will respond

Sorry to be stating the obvious, but the easiest way to keep updated is to go to the match.

The technology remains in place for text updates - it just needs a method for paying for them. The text updates were fairly straight forward.

 

Each text costs around 10p to send out (I use a premium route that will guarantee prompt(ish) delivery & will also work on SMS to Voice on landlines.)

 

There are a minimum of three texts per game plus any goals - so on average say 6 text per game or 60p per person/per game.

 

The price depends upon the number that I purchase in advance - the ones we did earlier in the season I paid for - but with 70+ members the old price starts to creep up. (especially when we have 5 or 6 goals in a game )

 

However as a thank you to the fans for their loyalty this season - I will stump up the cost for the remainder of the season - it will be a minimum of HT & FT - with hopefully all the goals scored.

Maybe next season, for those who can't get to every game, they could pay £10 for x amount of matchs and you could continue the service that way?

I recieved a txt update around 10 minutes ago.

 

There are a few problems getting on the forum I thought I'd mention. The direct hyperlink from the site comes up with a picture....yes I said a picture...totally unrelated to Hx and football for that!

 

Also having trouble posting...

Ian, top stuff, many thanks - but it has put paid to the running gag we've got at the moment for non-attendees who ask us to text them at half time and full time...
