Aylesbury Mongs

Recommended Posts

Just been on the Aylesbury Message Board. Bloody hell, they're coming out with some crap. This is a random thread entitled St Scum!!

<blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr>

It was good to c some away support for a change but i would hardly say they were supporting there team.that bloke who just stood there and watched us for five minutes and that was it, turned round and kicked the back of the run like a loony.I think most of them were just up for a fight!how do there expect to draw in crowds at there place acting like that.a bunch of thugs! The way they pushed past all of us and walked into the young girls was terrible!

I am not complaining about the result cos i think it was just!just look at there squad.new chariman flashing the cash about!they will challenge for promotion i think and its just a shame they have a bunch of thugs for supporters!

<hr></blockquote>

Apparently, according to someone else, we support City because we're "too scared to go and support Chelsea or West Ham!"

In another thread, they've said that some of the comments on our board are nothing short of "libellous" and that "someone could be sued".

I've never come across such rubbish. Aylesbury have to be some of the most small-minded and petty fans in our league.

Makes an interesting read - I think we can rise above it (although calling them mongs doesn't help).

The self confessed right wing EFM is amusing - of all the things EFM are self confessed to be (Chas and Dave fans etc) I cannot for one minute imagine that right wing would come into it. The good people of St Albans are generally well educated, open minded individuals - not racists - and some drunken, often funny (although occasionally slightly too close to the mark) singing is not going to lead to the next Derek Beacon.

As far as defamation is concerned again they are along way off the mark. A retelling of Tuesday's events (which may or may not have been remembered clearly) is unlikely to be defamatory, particularly as any comments have not been directed towards an individual. Accusations of underhand dealings with money levelled at St Albans City on the other hand may be.

There do see to be a majority of decent people on the Aylesbury board but the small minded minority has taken over. The need to resort to agricultural anglo-saxon expletives sums up the strength of their arguments.

Anyway three points tomorrow please City.

In light of the nonsense on their board, giving them anything else to fuel their fire is ill advised - that was all I was getting at.

Also - fair play to Mr Gibson, he hasn't hidden behind others or made veiled statements about his views like some in the past have and he has responded quickly and not left it to just a rant in the programme as may have happened before.

When it comes down to it City supporters are 99% of the time well behaved. Occasionally a little too much drink leads to the off daft action.

I totally agree (although I was not there) that a steward marching someone accross the pitch is over the top, a quite word would have done the job. However if non-league football is trying to be taken more seriously and this kind of thing is no longer tolerated then people will have to stay off the pitch.

I think I am right that is only a criminal offence to enter the playing surface, be drunk or drink in site of the pitch in a designated sports ground (ie all league grounds). I however would not be suprised if in clamping down on people going on the pitch clubs will be more likely to call the police and try and get people charged with standard drunkedn disorderly, disorderly behaviour type offences.

Finally does anybody remember Ashton away in the FA Cup - stonewall penalty in the last few minutes not given and a part time City fan was over the fence looked like they were going to hit the ref until the Ashton centre half got between them - I don't remember all the fuss then.

Hopefully this kind of stewarding will be something to get used to - when City are in the Conference (or even the league). Anyway now I have finished - Well done Mr Gibson for taking a stance even if not everybody will agree with you.

For once I agree with you SAINTS64MAD! Im not sure about the comment about our new chairman 'flashing the cash!' I agree the squad is good but we all know no cash is being spent out of turn. We dont need to do that.
