Craig Wilkins is now fit and Lew Watts has completed is suspension, and both will be available for selection tomorrow.

Darren Smith has today joined Folkestone where he will rejoin former Fleet players Scott Lindsay, Steve Restarick and Steve Hafner.

That's a great shame about Smudger - many used to knock him, but for me he was our most improved player over the last couple of seasons.

I said in my post-D&R game summary that there was a chance that he would be tragically frozen out of the team this year, and unfortunately I have been proved right sooner than expected.

Good luck at Invicta Smudger!

Woops.

Posted the smilie but not the text!

Completly agree jc.

I spent most of last season defending Smudger when there were

people who would have slagged him off if he'd scored a hat trick

then gone in goal and saved a penalty.

Darren made a great contribution to last seasons success and

and we should all thank him and wish him well.

He was a good player who gave it his best nearly every game, I wish him luck at folkestone and give him the tip of staying away from the Sunday market at the seafront . Coz he doe's not want to buy any dodgy gear off me!

Must add my best wishes to Smudger.

As has been said elsewhere in the thread, he played a great part in our success last season and improved enormously over the last 2 or 3 seasons - his crossing from the right could be exceptional.

Talking of player movements, I see from the Reporter that Stevenage are willing to talk about releasing Paul Sturgess to us permanently, and he is keen to stay longer with us.

I know we have Justin when hes fit, but we dont have any specialist cover for that position & Sturgess has looked useful during his time on the pitch.

I presume Stevenage will want a fee and I guess that may be the problem, but I guess we'll soon find out.
