BILLERICAY 2 WEALDSTONE 0

Recommended Posts

A work man like game with us providing the most in the way of pressure. Both goals were deserved with Armstrong going close on a number of occassions and Nathan having a shot saved off the line.

Wealdstone didn't really offer much in the way of opposition. Nathan scored both goals, both being well taken.

We're now second to Yeading so a draw from the Boretree game will be, in my opinion, the best result as, if we continue this form, it will take the league down to wire (of course, we have to beat them next Saturday).

Thought we were pretty convincing today. Wealdstone had to work their nuts off to keep us out for 3/4 of the game, but by the end they were knackered, whereas we still looked pretty fresh (Stones might like to consider telling their players to lay off the fags and beer if they want to play a full 90 minutes...).

Solid at the back, dominant in midfield (Hunter and Forbes were excellent) and we looked pretty good up front - could have easily had a couple more goals in the end. Good to see Nathan back from injury, he took his goals well. Be interesting to see what the team is for Monday, Trotty and Keiran may yet have to wait for a recall!

Thats a bit rich coming from a supporter of a club who's players don't have to fit a full weeks work in between matches.

Well about half of the starting line-up yesterday are full time... But compare our part time players (the likes of Saps and Henty) with the oppo's yesterday and our fitness was far superior. All I was suggesting was that having let slip the points in the final third of both games, Stones might like to look at their player's fitness - starting with stopping the snouts....

You're getting tutoring from Professor Gazza - The St.Blues school of further confusion is quite apt.

Anyway, Good result for you guys, well done.

Phil

Funny Phil...perhaps the mentally unstable from Boretree can make the distinction...

As usual you make an asumtion from an asumtion...12,000 miles away.

Yes we are full time but as everyone knows, if ya wanna do the job, ya gotta keep fit, that means lay off the fags and beer...Unless you are stuck in the 1950's when it was okay to play football and puff!!!

Ya know, everytime you come on this forum under lines the fact that you actually a prize twat and this country, no this county is better for you being where you are...Jeez, those that knew you in Billericay must've sighed a sigh of refief whne you left...

Now make like Mark "Flag" and pick out the "insults" in that...

I thought this was one of our most impressive performances of the season. The heat is well and truly on, yet we completely outplayed Wealdstone in every area and were good value for the final 2-0 scoreline. Only some good goalkeeping, last-ditch defending and the odd average finish kept the score down. Macca was outstanding confirming what many think about him playing centre half, team selection will be interesting in the coming games.

capleton

henty mcsweeney sappleton kerrigan

game (oxby) forbes hunter dormer (wareham)

armstrong cousins (elder)

snu: trott, gallagher!!

one point re team selection - now that we have whatever number of "cup-finals" left praps a sub keeper is required??

anyway looking forward to monday - we will win - no doubt whatsoever

Cor blimey Mr Biggins, I certainly bring the worst out in you. Explain where the issue is? I only wondered quite why one of the posters on here was comparing part timers with full timers in the fitness stakes? I always say compare apples with apples. Then you come back foaming at the mouth (metaphorically speaking)making suggestions about mental instability, describing me as an um er! the Scousers name for a ladies um er! personal part of her anatomy. You surpass yourself and keep me amused sametime. Have a good one and hope IRON do the business today, I'll be staying up till 3am to get that result. But look forward to you putting your clocks forward so next week final whistle will be an hour earlier for us IRON supporters downunder.

Cheers
Phil

Morning all! A deserved three points from a compitent performance.

A goal-less first half more through luck than judgement.

Wealdstone only really troubled you for the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Good luck to City for Monday!

Compitent!!! Well, if compitent gets us three points, so be it!!! It's the three points that count...

Then again, it's better than "cheating" or as some would put it "gamesmanship", eh, IW?

To Ozbrit...foaming at the mouth...nah, I just read the comments and the make a judgement call at what kind of arrogant meaning is between the lines and then go back...You are just a tick on the backside of this forum...

A fine performance i thought, thoroughly deserved the win. Good performances all over the pitch. Thought Armstrong was excellent, as was Nathan when he came on, deserved his goals. If that was a competent performance then ill be happy to be competent for the rest of the season.

Bring on Monday, cant wait. Happy Easter all.
