1183 the crowd eh! who made up the number this week, maybe even the same one as last tuesday! ... also why is it that when Cray Ross is on the turnstile that half the time the turnstile doesn't want to turn properly and he wants you to squeeze through without it registering, ... strange eh.

back to the football, ... Ollie, ... silly boy today, ... never helped our cause much with a blatantly silly foul, only knocking him today, not making him the scapegoat for the season so far, ... he's done quite well as a whole and chipped in with some decent goals.

This is my opinion and would welcome comments but I think Jeff King has taken us as far as he possibly can and next season the club needs to install a proper footballing man, ... most of the clubs in this division and especially the ones near the top have all got ex football league players as boss with plenty of experience of this level and beyond, ... a valuable factor I believe. ... Jeff has done brilliant in the dozen or so years he's been in charge and we owe everything to him in our quick rise from a nothing team to Conference league football and also our "special day" when we won the F A Trophy. ... now though, again in my opinion he is "lost" tactically in this division and its showing week in and week out.

One last thing, does anyone know when! if! there is to be a new ground, Canvey Football Club never keep the fans updated about such matters, ... the Club always plays things close to their chest, ... updates now and again on the website, in the local papers and more importantly in the programme keeps people interested, ... the fans like to know whats going on.

Enough said, I've had my say, ... does anyone out there agree/disagree with my comments on matters, ... look forward to any response.

can't disagree with any of what payingfan has said. no doubt at all that canvey island fc IS jeff king and we would still be in the sunday league without him. but when the question is asked, are the players good enough for football at this level? i hope that the secondary question is also asked, is the management of the club good enough for football at this level?

 

perhaps they are and this season's lack of success really is down to poor referees, the crowd not making enough noise, annoying injuries, the rub of the green... etc., etc.

 

i think jeff and glen deserve a medal for what they have achieved for our club and our island but, let's be honest, if the club were owned by someone else (alan sgar, al fayed or elton john) would the management team have come this far without a single criticism from the fans? i think not.

Wake up everyone, we are in the Conference. It was always going to be hard and we have struggled with injuries. It's a bit harsh to criticise Jeff, although he made a starnge decision to take of Keeling today.

 

Lets just learn from this season and plan for some steady improvement.

Seriously though guys, this IS a hard league. The cream of non-league football, mixed with under-achieving ex-league clubs.

MUPPETS MUPPETS EVERT WHERE.

 

Where have you been all season, we were beat yesterday by a combination of a good side a dodgy ref and a little bit of naivity, quality of football we were as good as any one.

 

I remember Jeff in May talking about getting promoted, "it is going to be hard, we must not expect much in our first season, We have no right to play at this level, survival will be our only target this year"

 

Can anyone tell me anythng he has done or said that has been wrong so far. We do not always understand his decisions, but then we are not the manager and throwing ourselves behind the club.

 

As for the turnstiles I took 13 boys myself and two pints a burger and a roll £35, how bad is that.
