Segregation Arrangements

Recommended Posts

i'm disappointed to hear about the segregation.

i know we have a reputation but i don't recall any real problems when we haven't been segregated. it's often worse when you get the fans separated because you build up the tribalism.

if any idiots travel they may ignore the segregation anyway, but normal fans won't be there to point them out to stewards etc. at dover in the cup last year (without segregration) a couple of idiots started to cause a bit of trouble but other united fans in the crowd had a go at them and it helped sort the situation out.

anyway, i'm looking forward to a decent day out, hopefully bump into a few of you in the pubs before the game.

btw is the designated away end covered?

Being a Hereford Fan, I was unfortunate enougth to be at Nuneaton a couple of seasons ago where there wasn't any segregation. I was in the ground quite early and had to witness the local brain-deads hurl some of the worst and vile verbal attacks I've heard at a game (and I've been around a bit) upon the few other Bulls fans in the ground, the majority being families. As the kick-off got nearer there was still only a handful of Hereford fans in the ground and the abuse got worse and worse but was noted by several Bulls fans entering the ground. Sure enougth by the time the match had started there were a great deal of Hereford supporters in the ground and many (in ordinary clothes) congregated in the 'home' section. Not long into the game it kicked off and due to the small police presence it was a free for all, all decent Nuneaton fans moved away from the trouble and this brings me to my main point. After order was restored a large number of Hereford fans from all around the ground moved to the 'home' end and took it other baiting the few Nuneaton retards that remained protected by police and doing their best to start more trouble. It might be possible to control one or two idiots when everone else is enjoying the atmosphere but when it turns nasty (and I didn't expect it at Nuneaton before the game) it quickly gets out of control and more and more people get sucked in to the violence. Since that game, Hereford have been seen by the police as having one of the worst sets of fans in the Conference and such is the case now that nearly every away game is segregated. Also note that the Nuneaton fixture the following season was moved to midweek with a much smaller crowd attending. By the way, the fixture this year is next Saturday, almost certain to be segreagted. This is a shame as I enjoyed the first season in the conference mixing with home fans on our travels and generally enjoying ourselves win or lose (more often the latter unfortunately). Despite this I believe Hereford fans to be some of the best supporters in the country but lets not forget that we do have our share of morons (we even fought amongst ourselves at Woking one year!) and so do every club in the conference. Although I would love to mix with the Gravesend fans on Saturday; with the current level of support due to our excellent start to the season and the subsequent low-life that make up part of this I believe, shame that it is, that segregation is the best policy on Saturday. I hope to mix with Gravesend fans in the town and outside the ground and wish their club the best for the season, Saturday excepted!

For the travelling Fleet fan can it be assumed that Hereford fans will travel clockwise around the M25 and fleet fans anti clockwise ?

Also will Hereford fans travel around the north of London and Fleet fans the south .

Now we're back in the big league we should be told !

You buy me a Strongbow ( or 7 !)...and I will bore you to death for hours !!

Sheffield Wednesday were formed in 1867,in fact on the evening of the 4th of September to be precise. They were the football section of the Wednesday Cricket Club...which had been in existence since 1820..........

I'll stop now...as not to spoil the excitement....but many a mate has fallen asleep when I have been talking after several Apple Juices !!

Regretfully WAPMAN is on holiday...or he would bore you even more with Man U talk.......I wouldn't recommend that...as I say, fortunately ( for us as well ) he his boring some innocent

foreign chap somewhere in the world with tales of Roy Keane. at this very moment !!..

Regards,

It is indeed a great shame that this match will be segragated,I too like my fellow hereford fan like to mingle with the opposing fans ,enjoy a few pints and ave a bit of banter.

A few tw%ts that have latched onto our glorious Bretheren cause trouble, and they like to wear Burberry clothing so beware we avoid them,I advise you to.

Look foreward to the match .

Obviously the aforementioned TW%TS stayed at home because all the away fans I came across seemed to be ordinary* normally adjusted people, and I certainly didn't see any of them eating children or anything as some would try to have us believe they do. I just hope we can leave the same good impression when we come to your place.

* 'Ordinary' is a relative term, and is only used here in its more abstract sense when talking about those of us who travel up to 700 miles in one day for 90 minutes of entertainment and socialising.

Glad to see the idiots did indeed stay away, and apart from the 90 minutes of torment, the rest of us had a good day, some more than others.

you do seem to have a tidy playable pitch which ordinarily would have suited our style of play,we have those sort of days and we have the sort where we could beat the Brazillian national side,no excuses though it looks like your boys will be challenging for a top5 playoff position good luck, but not against us eh.
