"Ask the Chairman" - web commentary on Good Friday

Recommended Posts

On Friday afternoon, there will be regular updates on Radio Kent from Witton from around 2:45 into the Afternoon Show but there is no specific sports show! The usual FRIDAY SPORT programme will start at 6:00pm and have a report and reaction.

But THE WHOLE GAME will be live on the RK website from around 2:50, finishing around 5:00pm with yours truly and "Lord" Webster. Now to give us a break at half time, I intend to speak to the Fleet Chairman (Brian Kilcullen) before hand in a sort of "Question and Answers" session, but need your help.

If you've got anything you want me to ask Brian, please post it here BEFORE 8:00am FRIDAY MORNING, and keep listening at Half Time on Friday afternoon whilst Lord Webster and I "attack" the local hospitality... It will be recorded on Friday lunchtime when we arrive in the North West, and Brian has already agreed to the "grilling"!

So now its down to you guys out there to give me the questions that YOU want answered!

Thanks for your help...

Greenie,

Please could you ask Brian why we put the schoolboys out in the semi-final against Dover?

I know it is a disgusting Americanism but in my job we are always told to set smart targets. That is:

Set

Manageable

Achievable

Realistic

Targets

For the Fleet our achievable, realistic target would have been to win the KSC not to finish fourteenth rather than fifteenth.

It is a shame you are asking the questions at half time because obviously if we lose on Friday then we will have thrown away our only chance of a trophy for absolutely nothing rather than just next to nothing.

thanks.

Will the stand rennovations be completed any time soon?

What is the predicted timescale for becoming a proper 'full-time' club?

How does Brian feel about GNFC missing out on the 50k prize money from winning the FA Trophy..?

How much resource/expenditure has been allocated for the purchase of new players for Liam?.

Does Brian regret losing Andy Ford, even though it was 'because' there was a lack of support from the board that forced AFs resignation?.

Just a few questions I would personnaly like answers to, maybe they are not high in priority, but important to me nonetheless..!

Cheers Ron.

No doubt he's delighted.

In all seriousness, there are some good questions here - particularly those about Andy Ford and Slarti's about last night's KSC team.

Alas, I'll be at Wincham Park and so won't be able to tune in, but this does sound potentially interesting.

Please ask Brian what the timescale is for moving from Stonebridge Road. In particular:-

1. How long do we have left to run on our current lease?

2. That our landlords have not been prepared to either sell us the land or extend our present lease despite an approach to do so.

3.When approximately he believes Gravesham Borough Council will make a positive decision about where we may be able to move to?

4. Finally, whether a riverside location is really such a good idea in the medium/long term given rising water levels and the consequences of global warming.

Thanks. Kevin Johncock.

1) Will the chairman step aside for a major benefactor i.e Victor Gladwish?

2) Did the role of chief executive warrant a full time position i.e Glenn Aitken

3) Why did we not advertise for the post of manager when Andy Ford left ?

4) Does he think with the clubs going down vs coming up that with the current set up next season we can hope for no more than a relegation battle?

Unfortunately, now I think about it I think I know what my answer to that question would be.

Another possible question:

How long does Liam's contract run for? (And before any anonymous posters jump on this, it's not a question with an agenda).

How are the plans going for the '100 years celebration of Football' at Stonebridge Rd?.

Does the club still have plans for a new offical website?

Does he read this forum?

Who is his personal player 'of the season'

I think everything else already appears

First post in a while. My questions are:

1) What's the Club doing to increase the Fanbase at the Club?

For example, Monday's game vs FGR is "Kids Go Free" but its no use running such a scheme if you don't tell the community about it eg how about a Full Page advert in the local press? Everytime I pick up a local paper all I see is Charlton Athletic F.C.

2) Will the Club be reversing its VERY un-popular decision not to replace lost season tickets? Even if there is an administration cost involved.

3) Rumour has it the "Fleet" are going Full-time next season - is the Chairman willing to confirm or deny this? Where is the money coming from on gates of just over 1000.

4) Will the First team home strip be changed to "Green and blue" next season if the Fleet go full-time?

5) Has Liam Daish signed a contract and if so for how long?

6) Can we have a progress update regarding Beauwaters situation?

7) Any chance the Half Time entertainment could be improved?

Dancing Cheerleaders , Sumo wrestling in the centre circle Hooky distributing sweets and kids from a local school each week taking penalties on the pitch.

Re: the lease.

I have always been led to believe that each year we negotiate a one-year extension to our lease, meaning that we normally always have a 10 year lease at the start of a season. I'm sure Dave can clarify the situation.

Re: the kit.

The new kit will be available to view on Easter Monday in the club shop, where you will be able to place orders for next season, subject to paying a deposit.

It's red and white.

Apparently Mr. Gladwish has also said we don't have to have his colours in the away strip anymore either.
