Surely we must wake up and see now that Diash's honeymoon period is over and he is pants!!

Last night was a joke and so was the Stortford Game.

DAISH OUT!! Who's with me??

Yes, the honeymoon's over.

But Daish is no different from many managers in regarding county cup games as pointless. We may disagree, but I don't think you judge his quality as a manager on that.

And Stortford was a shambles, but it was only one shambles. He needs to have a few more shambles before I'd start calling for his head this early!

Garbage. Daish is managing someone elses team, the time to judge is next season. With four matches in eight days coming up why risk players with injuries, suspensions, and fatigue, in what is surely a pointless competition. You'd thought by the Dover fans reaction that they'd won a major cup final, instead of failing to beat a side of youngsters, with perhaps three first teamers, none of whom were involved last Saturday.
For all those calling for Moussa to start, he surely did nothing last night to change the managers' mind. He was very disappointing. All credit to the youngsters, but it just shows how downhill Dover have gone.

Daish has only just arrived and has very limited resources with which to work.

We’re still part-time

Compared to the most other Conference teams attendances and the area in which the club is situated our attendances are poor.

We are not a rich club and don’t get much financial backing.

Until these things change then I’ve resigned myself to seeing the club achieve mid-table security each season with fingers crossed the occasional win over one of the division’s bigger clubs.

If you want to help the club the best thing to do is get behind the team, go to as many matches as work or financial restrictions allow, try to bring as many mates along as possible and spend a bit of money in the club bar or shop.

Unfortunately we are small fish in a big pond, and unless the club, the council or a local businessman take drastic steps to invest in the club then that is all we will ever be – the supporters can only do so much.

No, it shows that they are going to a cup final this year and we are not.

If you look at the list of honours won by the club you will notice that the KSC is only a pointless competition in the years that we don't win it.

To anyone who went to the three finals that we won in a row those matches where far from pointless.

I agree that Moussa has been dissapointing of late but putting him in a side full of schoolboys does not constitute giving him a chance.

But as I said, Daish not playing a full team in a county cup competition does NOT (in my opinion, others may differ) have much to do with his managerial credentials. As manager of the club, if he deems the competition to be a good opportunity to blood youngsters then so be it. I wish he'd played at least a fuller team last night, but although we miss out on a final (an evening one, so not even a day out!) I'm not going to use it as ammunition against him this season.

As Robert said, he's managing someone else's team, and until we see what he does in the summer and beyond, it's bordering on the ridiculous to start outing him already (again, in my opinion).

its a bit early to call for his head yes we have gone out of two cups but one was down to misfortune in two players being sent off which no manager can deal with.

and we dont want to risk all our key players for the ksc as there is still a slight chance of both getting into the play offs and being relegated

Walker may well have slipped up putting his first team out, I'd thought Folkestone and Tonbridge, would be absolutely delighted that Dover played 120 mins last night. Diash Conference record so far P5 W3 D1 L1 and for me that's what he should be judged on

Couldn't agree with you more, Dover had an excuse for putting out a weakened team but chose to take it seriously, we on the other hand, have no other matches of any importance this season but chose to treat it as a joke.

I am sure Liam Daish will be judged on what we do next season, and hopefully the one after etc...and I hope he is succesful.

The first success we had under Andy Ford was the KSC and having had nothing to cheer for years we were all bloody grateful for it.

Exactly, Slarti. I am also pretty disgusted about last night's team selection, but that doesn't mean I'm going to call for him to be sacked or anything as ludicrous as that.

I refer everyone to Slarti's post on another thread, which sums up the whole situation perfectly:

"What actually happened was we treated the competition, Dover and our own fans with no respect at all last night.

If we wanted to give some of the pase boys some experience, and I am totally in favour of that, then we would have played one or two of them in a side with nine or ten first team players. What we did last night was to give Jay and Matt some experience of playing in the pase team, which I don't think either of them really needed.

Last night we surrendered our only chance of winning anything and of finishing the season on a high note in order to have our players fresh for the biggest match of the season...Northwich Victoria away. Which although it is a big game for the Vics in their effort to avoid relegation as far as we are concerned it could make all the difference between finishing fourteenth or fifteenth this season."

Of course, we have an obligation to put out a strong side against Northwich, given that they still have an awful lot to play for, but that shouldn't mean we can't play first teamers against Dover as well.

To all the nutters thinking 'Daish out' - get real.

This isn't his team - as I've stated previously, I think Liam will use his contacts wisely in the summer.

Mmmm, I wonder. That's the big test. Andy accumulated a squad able to hold their own over three seasons in the Conference.
If it comes to contacts , dare I suggest we have dropped a division.

Some good points. I recall a Havant fan posting on the day Liam's appointment was announced that the anticipated " connections " never materialised there when he joined them as manager. It would be unlikely that a manager who had not been at a Conference club before would have the same knowledge and contacts as someone recently experienced at this level. We must wait and see. kmj.

Do peope really want Liam at this club?? Absolutely daft thread - every manager makes mistakes - even managers such as Mourinho, Ferguson and Wenger.

Have you lot never done something at work that you look back on and wonder why you did such a daft thing/ why you did it that way?

Everything is easy with hindsight, dont forget.

Equally, some people seem to expect miracles and 100% win records from Liam - God forbid that we should ever lose another game!

And would Andy Ford have done anything different for the KSC game? Again, I doubt it, although we'll never know.

Lets get real here, everyone - Liam isnt suddenly going to have mllions available and isnt going to be able to buy a Beckham,or a Henry.

And with a limited squad size, games such as the KSC will always be lower priority - the supporters who attend these games know that we will basically use second or even third choice players. Lets not forget that the only sides at higher levels of Senior Football in Kent dont even consider the KSC worthy of entering their reserve or youth teams.

I, for one, wont be criticising Liam's approach until we're a good few games into next season, when we can start to get a realistic feel for his abilities.

Disappointment & criticism over the Trophy defeat was probably justified - the criticism over the team selection & defeat at Dover in the KSC less so.

This posting is a little muddled, but I hope you get the gist !!
