Staines-upon-Thames Rebel
optimistic - your no fan of Slough Town as you claim - if you were you would support the club in all its victories - go and support Maidenhead and then you can moan to your hearts content. Guest
Cant work this out. If you are a Rebel why would you criticies the club for reaching a final...and hopefully winning it? If you're not a Rebel it all smacks of sour grapes if you ask me!
Guest
I notice further down Opti has been re-christened as Onanistic by Radders. This is highly unfair to all teenage boys who derive much harmless pleasure from being w*****s. Opti however has a rather limp view of life and has little to get excited about. Contrast that by reading Charlie Thomas' post, who is exited at the prospect of her first cup final. That's the spirit in which to watch Slough. The glass is half full. For opti it is half full also but you would not want to drink what was in it!
Woody SUFC
hahaha! Ok it's hardly the FA cup but how does doing well in a league cup mean you are going to be relegated!? I think it's clear this is either a Windsor fan on a wind up or a Maidenhead fan who has to knock other sides as he's realised his own is going down
A Rebel and a Saint
ompimistic, its still a cup final!!! may not be a well recognised cup amongst people like yourself, but to the club its a big thing!
Guest
On a serious note! 1: Why does Eddie play our best striker in the back four? Surely the benefit gained, if there is any, is offset by the loss of Hodge's talent up front. 2: IF Hampton & Richmond reach the final, surely it won't be played over in Essex but at a venue nearer the two clubs, like Staines. Would get better crowd. But what do I know about football!
SteveDelaney
Funny how certain people keep rubbishing this cup competion on one hand supporters keep saying what a tougher league this is to last season's but in the same breath when we beat all these same sides to get to the final we are told what a crap competion it is. Bet the players and management don't think so after a grewling season in the league and all other cup competions they deserve to be in the final and I hope we will be all rewarded by winning it. GarySTFC
Met Police is quite a good idea as it has the facilities to cope with what the sponsors would want to do I'm sure. Not a bad little ground there either, and who can forget Booty's lob which more or less secured the 'promotion' for us last season. Let's hope there are a few more memories to be added to that if we get there! Hodges is a more than capable centre back as well. Given the shortage of personnel we have, Hodgey is showing his versatility and helping the team by plugging the gap. I'm sure Eddie and Mickey want him back up front doing what he does best ASAP, but for the time being, Seedel is progressing nicely, Smurf2 is still scoring the goals and Miller and Cann provide us with options upfront. You have to ask yourself, why we can beat these teams in the cup, but not in the league-I believe its called lack of motivation or non trying or "couldn't careless ", otherwise surely we should be able to repeat some of these wins in the league.Stands to reason mate. On a more laughable note, I know Radders, and the long word he called me, he must have looked it up, cos anything over 4 letters and he's confused haha!! GarySTFC
Haha. You DO know Radders then! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It's great to be in a cup final. Last ones I can remember (first team, before anyone shouts Doxhill Presidents Cup at me) were the League Cup and County Cup finals from the 1994/5 season when we went up behind Enfield from the Ryman/Isthmian? Martin
Don't forget Walsall, we should be able to beat them week in week out in the league. Opti, the only team we have lost both league fixtures to having beat them in a cup competition is Chelmsford. Whilst we lost at Heybridge in the league we still have the home fixture to come and on the basis of our last two meetings we have every chance of picking up three points. We have picked up league points from Yeading, Cheshunt and Salisbury all of whom we have meet in various cup competitions.
