Wouldn't say it was a lucky penalty. Definate hand ball as No 6 leaned into it. What was good was to see the officials give it, as many would have played on saying it was accidental. The fact was he moved his arm towards the ball and it stopped it getting to our player (Carbon?). Definate penalty and overall a fair result.

4th para should be "The Rebels were awarded" not warded

Whether we did or didn't 'deserve' it, having seen it again on that excellent video service on the Official Website (shameless plug - www.sloughtownfc.net), the defender clearly move his arm toward the ball. Clear penalty.

 

Wasn't my initial view either. Thought it was very harsh at the time, but the benefit of seeing it again shows it clearly.

Not saying it wasn't a penalty because it was, but what puzzled me was the ref had a good look, then looked at his assistant who didn't flag, then blew his whistle and then walked over and discussed it.

Surley if he had any doubt in his mind and his assistant hadn't signaled the offence then he shouldn't have stopped the game, should he??

The referee consulted his assistant only to confirm the player had handled the ball inside the box and not outside.Therefore awarding a penalty,not a freekick.Simple!
