Taken from a post on Confguide.

"Signed for Shrewsbury Town this morning from Canvey Island.

Two year deal, initially £5000 rising to £15000 after 20 appearances.

Peters has earmarked him as one for next season and he sounds like a good 'un.

Anyone seen the lad play and have owt to say about him. ?"

always thought he was a good player at Canvey. .. always likely to get you a goal at set pieces, good luck to him. ...Warning to his new team mates though, dont room with him on away trips, ... he always leaves his mark.

perhaps it would be a good idea if Andrex sponsor the proposed friendly against Shrewsbury cos as it says on the official Canvey site, we take all the proceeds and who knows what that might be if Gavins having a bad day.

I think the Official site wanted to wait till it was 100% complete and all the details like the friendly etc. had been arranged.

I'm actually surprised the Club have released details about the fee involved, well done to them. Most other Clubs would leave it as nominal or undisclosed.

15K's not bad, that's just over double what we paid for him I believe. Obviously we won't get the other £10,000 till next season but it's something to bolster the bank balance and we could probably sign a replacement for the initial £5,000 during pre-season.

It would seem that Gavin Cowan wasn't the only former Gull to make the jump to the Football League before today's deadline.

Welsh native Goalkeeper Ryan Harrison has gone back across the Severn to join Wrexham from Hastings.
