Omen for Lewes? The Stats!!

Recommended Posts

Of the last eleven football matches I've gone to watch, eight of them have been won by the team I supported and the other three have been draws.

Seems I'm in a rich vein of supporting form at the moment, which bodes well for my next match, at Lewes on Monday.

Of those most recent eleven, only two of these were St Albans games, which produced one win (Cray Wanderers) and one draw (at Carshalton).

The last defeat I saw was St Albans, 0-3 at home against Weymouth, on the same day as I also witnessed Spurs lose by the odd goal in nine against Arsenal.

This was also the last time a team I was supporting failed to score in a match I attended.

Last time I saw St Albans keep a clean sheet was in the FA Cup match against Heybridge earlier this season.

Last time I saw St Albans keep a clean sheet in a result that actually stood was an incredible 15 months ago in a 4-0 victory over Hoddesdon Town in the Herts Senior Cup. I have watched the Saints thirty times since this game.

You have to go back to the 0-0 draw with Braintree in October 2003 for the last time I saw St Albans keep a clean sheer in the league.

Last time I saw St Albans play Lewes was indeed the previous meeting between the two clubs, also on a Bank Holiday Monday, last August. Saints lost 2-3 at Clarence Park.

I'm now boring myself...

And gertcha will more than likely be wearing a blue jumper.

Do you own more than one mate?

Good thing about dull clothes is you can wear them for weeks and nobody would even notice, yellow however!!

Mind you there is a whole weekend of Yellow T-shirts there!

And I don't have a yellow wigan casino t-shirt

Nah, I've got two, just don't wear the Conservative club jumper when I'm with you.

I might get myself another one for next winter, so that Spurs one could be a good call.

I thought you must have had a third yellow t-shirt. You don't half rotate Stax and Joy Division well then.

Me and Hawksey were discussing this on Saturday when you were trying to guess what I was wearing, I pointed out that you always wore the same blue jumper and he agreed then we realised that you take the p*ss in order to detract attention from yourself, in this case the blue jumper which is worn more than the 3 yellow t-shirts! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I'm not denying the blue jumper claim although bear in mind when I go out with you I go to scummy pubs / clubs to watch gigs. I'm hardly likley to put my best clobber on for that am I ?

Go to a half decent pub / club and you don't get let in, or if by a miracle you do, you [****!!****] yourself because you stand out like a sore thumb like you did when you were with me Tom and Costello in Oxford.

Poor old Tom got a right earful when he tried to nip off for a guick Jimmy Riddle.

It's all about variety for me. I enjoy dressing down and going to a gig or an indie club, but I also enjoy putting on the smart gear and heading off down the Club, or maybe going to a decent bar / club up in London.

His wardrobe restricts him to were he can go, and also were the other people who are with him can go.

I quite like the new Lloyds bar in St.Albans, but I would ahve no chance of getting in there with him after 7pm.

It is really good. I think they have to keep things very tight there to retain the licence as I think they had a massive struggle to get one in the first place.

When I've been there it hasn't been full of twats like the Vintry etc. and it hasn't been stupidly busy either which can only be good.
