What on earth do I do now?

Keep on truckin' or retire a la Zeal (even though I have several alias's which means I don't have a valid e-mail address to launch a new on)

Talking about thousands, I saw this in the Telegraph this morning. Apparently our friends at Billericay have some new neighbours:

 

Mr Howard ventured to the fringes of an illegal camp at Crays Hill, near Billericay, yesterday where an estimated 1,000 travellers are fighting an eviction order.

 

Aides said Mr Howard did not go to meet the travellers because of fears for his personal safety.

 

He did, however, meet more than two dozen residents whose lives have been blighted by the massive growth of the original, legal site over the past five years. Len Gridley,45, a businessman whose home backs on to the site, said: ''I'm so frightened of the camp I rarely go home any more.

 

"I would rather sleep in my van than return there each night. It's an utter nightmare. I am sick to death of the intimidation, noise, filth and sewage in the ditches.

 

''Since they arrived life has been intolerable. I have had three break-ins.

 

"I've had them stop me in the lane and tell me they know where I live. They toot their horns for hours on end day and night.

 

''Anywhere else in Essex, my bungalow would be worth about £450,000 but I had an estate agent round who said I would be lucky to get £100,000 for it."

Another bandwagon jumped on by Mr Howard, does he ever come up with his own ideas or just wait until Labour bring something up and then swings the other way

Nothing to do with the gypsies mate, it's Billericay!

Anyway, which one of us are going to pop over and mention to Gazza and co that Billericay have more gypo's than Canvey <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Pretty easy posting a news post about Billericay on this forum...considering that you KNOW the reaction it'll get...

 

Tell ya what, the EFM would have the courage to come on our forum and do it, so why can't you....or is it you are feeling the heat...

Well one of my staunch labour loving friends has really opened my eyes with his insights into the two parties and their differing policies.

 

He explained to me that despite Labour not sticking to the majority of their pledges they made in 1997 and 2001 this is in fact the Conservatives fault, so we shouldn't judge them on their failings just yet.

 

Also, Mrs Thatcher ruined his life. He is so bitter towards her and he wants to do unspeakable things to her. He's a mate, and if she has caused him so much trouble during his early childhood then maybe I should reconsider my allegiance.

I heard the same interview from the man who bolted the St.Albans seat as he wasn't good enough to remain in it as well.

 

He was just confirming the Tories immigration policy of a set number of people coming into the country (which I've already picked holes in). Now he's saying that all the new houses that need to be built a 3rd will be filled with immagrants, which is plain nonsense. I quite like the idea of a grand bond for employers to pay to get forgeien labour in but where do you draw the line because we use a lot of these people in the NHS, can it afford this?

And him moaning about housing is rich when the Tories sold all the council houses and stopped building as well.

 

My point about the Micheal Howard was that he jumps on any bandwagon, on Monday the gypsies are mentioned, on Tuesday they have a (well thought) policy the complete oppersite.

 

As for my pretentious t-shirts, well I have several 100 Northern Soul and American 60/70's R+B tracks in my collection which may surprise you from somebody with such a blinkered, insular taste in music!
