People on the gate never seem to bother. I know loads of people who get admission and a couple of beers for less then a tenner. I try it every game and have been successful on many occasions.

Define 'supporter'...

1)Someone who actively supports GNFC in terms of paying to see both home and away matches.

2) Someone who takes a keen interest in general affairs of GNFC - both finacially and competitvely.

3)Someone who is involved in generating awareness for GNFC outside of normal criteria.

4) Someone who is keen to generate funds to support GNFC.

5)Someone who knows the history and achievments of GNFC from conception to present day.

6) Someone who is not detremental to players or GNFC staff alike.

7) Someone who respects decisions made by management staff of GNFC and accepts those decisions to be accurate.

8) Someone who is personable, friendly and is always pleasant to fellow supporters/fans...

My vote is for Jessica.. and any other Fleet Trust Board member, without them, we 'normal supporters' will be missing out on a lot of valuable assets..!

Nigel behind the Goal

Anybody remember him...RIP Nigel

Supporter of the last decade

Legend.
A regular for many years, I believe Kenny Burrett paid for his season ticket.
My favourite Nigel moment was when we played Newport IOW away in the year we got promoted under Aldous.During a second half rain storm everyone took cover under stands on each side except Nigel who remained in the open behind the goal.

Nigel died, he was disabled. Very loyal suppoter. The last time I saw him was I believe a 2-0 defeat at Grays on our promotion season. Guess he would be mid forties now, but hard to say. My best memory was losing 5-1 one night at Carshalton. I can only remember me and him being behind the goal. He was so upset when Portway got his marching orders. No matter where I went there he was. Such a shame that hes not here now to see his beloved team 'playing at the top of the non-league ladder'.

When we were in the old Alliance league, Nigel used to travel on the train with the team with the Hills brothers, Bathe it Daily, the old club photographer and his miniscule brother.

As a lad I used to travel away with the team by train and spent many bizarre journeys to places like Frickley and Yeovil in their company.

All character building stuff.

Which reminds me of a player for the Fleet XI,Bob Dudman, whose dad would also travel with us.

Poor old Bob was very disappointed at missing the penalty at Barnet late in the season which effectvely contributed to our relegation. He left soon afterwards.

Nigel will be fondly remembered by me, I recall the coach used to pick him up outside the Price of Wales Pub.I also recall he was epiletic and I when with Albert who used to run the coaches allways had to make sure he had taken his medication!

I may be wrong as funny things happen to your memory as the years go by I think he might have had a siesure awaiting the supportres coach Meryther Tidfill???

I definatly remember Nigel having one of his turns when He along with myself, the Hills brothers and Si Merton were painting the changing rooms during the closed season ...mid eighties.

Si Merton another stalwart fan sadly no longer with us.

i would like to put the name of DAVE STROUD into the hat. He convinced his wife that they needed a people carrier to carry the children about, But what he really wanted it for was to drive his mates to every away match.

For those people who actually own up to knowing Stroudy, will realise that even though there is a question mark over his sexuality he is our most passionate fan.

He once did 100m in 7 secs, ok it was with the stevenage stewards chasing him across the pitch. And it was a good dive back into the crowd!!

Merthyr, wasnt that where the 'Brick' came through the window. Might have been a few mild heart palpatations that day. At least 'Nigel' wasnt on his own.

Sure i remember him on a cold day 'in Colwyn Bay'...why were we playing there. I cant remember.

the bottom line in..'The faithfull 500'.

Nigel, Simon and all the others now departed. RIP though I hope you can still follow the games from 'The other side'. Reckon Nigel is still 'behind the goal'. We just cant see him
