I trust you will be? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I wouldn't worry too much - I did use the word 'arguably' & I miss games home and away! Whether I attend Friday's game or not depends on whether I can nip away from work in the middle of the night! If not, I probably won't be going to Witton. Monday's game won't be a problem. I'll be in my usual spot- just in front of the shop on Monday.

They didn’t do anything wrong whatsoever Except use persistent foul language towards the Canvey supporters throughout the first half, which in theory is an offence worthy of ejection from the ground. So in theory if the clubs and the FA followed this rule to the letter of the law then you would be happy to see clubs from the Premiership to the conference loose half their support? If every supporter who used bad language at games was ejected or banned or whatever you’d like to see then Fleets attendances would be in the low hundreds. With football being a highly charged and emotive game what you have suggested isn’t workable whatsoever. If there club were to implement this it would spell almost financial ruin. I thought all the people with ideas like yours were already in employment at Soho Square – seems there may just be room for one more. In any case, jog on- the village are looking for an idiot and you just about fit the description. Like I’ve said if you don’t like it don’t come, nobody is forcing you. Bernard
What a twat. I think the village is looking for its idiot because you emigrated, pal. He is merely quoting what the ground regulations say, whether you disagree with them or not, so you can shut right up.
Guest
In the grand scale of things the events on Saturday aren’t even worthy of a mention. I was standing in the section next to the Canvey supporters and although I personally didn’t get involved in the abuse I did see that what took place was harmless and can be seen at every single ground across the country on most Saturday afternoons. I didn’t see or hear anybody object to any of the comments and most people found them humorous. For most people there situations like that just add to the atmosphere and make the experience of watching football that bit more enjoyable. If either groups of supporters had seriously wanted to mix it with their rivals then there are would have been plenty of genuine opportunities to ‘get it on’ in any of the pubs around the ground, in car parks or the nearby industrial estates. From what I saw before the game both set of supporters seemed to be mixing and there was no animosity towards one another at all, just a bit of harmless banter in the ground. It doesn’t help when people exaggerate incidents on these forums and if anyone who genuinely wanted to participate in the darker activities associated with watching football was reading this then they would think that there are likeminded people to meet at Stonebridge Road and get involved. You’ve got a lot of lip on this message board sunshine, but if you’re that concerned about it then why haven’t you approached these people about their behaviour? You may need to grow a spine first. Guest
I do tend to agree with the Anon on this occassion. It just seemed to be a few young kids getting excited.
Guest
Agreed other Anon. What a hyprocite Bernard is. Hes the one quoting the letter of the law and he calls you a "twat" for giving a personal opinion written in a non offensive tone. I have noticed the trend that he slags of any anon regardless of what they have to say. I don`t suppose he has for one minute thought that some people can`t register or give identities due to their day job or position?
American FLEET FAN No1
The trouble is Anon, so many Anons come on here and slag people off, or make abusive posts that people tend to treat them all the same!

You do make a good point (not about Bernard he's a decent bloke) but about Anon's not being able to register due to there position. I bet Brian reads this forum and I think he'd ahve a few things to say but can't go under the name everyone knows him as. But then saying that if he can't stand up and be counted they he shouldn't be talking. Anyway it's nice to hear an anon speaking some sense for a change. Cheers mate. Guest
Anyway lets sum up the game, The ground is a dump. The stewards are crap. The "safety officer" is a cowardly sneak. The officials were even more crap than the stewards. Apart from that werent a bad day out. The sun shone. The kids liked the ferry. The bus driver made the fair up, it was a pound dearer from the ground to the station than it was from the station to the ground. Englands garden you are having a laugh, a shopping centre surrounded by industry surrounded by slums. The first goal should have been dissallowed.
