Isn't a good idea when there is footie on the telly so anyone who might of gone down would just watch the sky match in the pub or at home...

Sunday games seem to work for Slough don't they?

All of the comments above just goes to prove that 'SLOUGH TOWN' means so much for the supporters, at present we are talking about games being played on different days it won't be long if something is not done that we won't have days to pick from if there is no club to go and support I for one will not go to watch any other team play after watching the REBELS for 38 yrs no other team will take ther place so at present any day is all right by me.

There seems to be an undercurrent in this thread that says playing on a Friday night was a bad idea, and yet the gate indicates that for Wealdstone it was a success. Without getting too mixed up in the hype about the Keep racism out of football event it would seem that 50-60 ground hoppers is a far better gate than most clubs travelling support. Our supporter's numbers seem to have been a bit down but even so the hoppers would have more than compensated. As far as travel goes I had no problems travelling down the M40/ North Circular, either to or from the match and Chris S told me the coach sailed up the bus lanes on the A5 so was even quicker. I appreciate that some people travelling from further a field had to cross London on Friday night during rush hour.

On a second topic you cant blame Friday night for the fact that Steve Daly's car broke down or that Shaun went left on the M41 not right and ended up in Aylesbury. Given that this is the second match where players in cars have arrived late perhaps the benefits of players travelling by car (which I assume are financial) are not as great as first though in terms of overall team performance or bonding on the coach.

Thirdly Friday night avoided a clash with three major rugby internationals, which may or may not have come into the reckoning. Of course on Saturday we are head to head with a full Engerland International match.
