Nationwide South club Thurrock have boosted their play-off hopes with the signing of striker Bertie Brayley from Conference National side Farnborough Town.

 

Brayley (pictured), 23, started his career at West Ham United where he won the FA Youth Cup, scoring three goals in the two-legged final against Coventry City. He then had brief spells at Queens Park Rangers and Swindon Town.

 

Canvey Island was his next port of call before being signed by Hornchurch for £15,000 a year ago.

 

More recently has been with Ryman League Premier Division side Heybridge Swifts, from where he joined Farnborough only last month
