I attended the cup game against Bishop's Stortford this week, it was the first time I'd ever been to Stonebridge Road. A mate of mine has been there several times and loves the ground as, now, do I. It's a proper football ground, the covering is low which creates a great atmosphere and the terraces are tight to the pitch, fantastic!

I'd be disappointed to see Gillingham get their way and you end up groundsharing in a soulless, all-seater stadium and leave the beautiful ground you now live in to root or become a supermarket.

Though the result didn't go your way, the fans made plenty of noise and the game was great! (I overlooked the jibes at Essex and the bloke smoking pot in the terrace)

I hope to visit again soon.

No, I was one of the two blokes from Essex (I'm a Colchester United fan, the other was Orient) in the terrace opposite the main stand.

Didn't know about the petition, is it online? I'm sure I could get several U's fans to add their support.

Its the combination of the low roof and the bloke smoking pot on the terrace that creates the great atmosphere. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/rasta.gif" alt="" />

I have posted a message on a Colchester United board about your petition with pictures f your ground. Hopefully you'll get a few more names on there! They're a great lot when it comes to supporting good causes, hope it helps!
