At this rate there could be a special knock-out competition for clubs expelled from other competetions or with points deducted for ineligble players - The Essex Miscreants Trophy or something.

cant believe we went out of this cup , its a quality trophy to win . Ive been a runner up before but never got my hands on that silver galleon !

No-one ever does, when they do the presentation they give the winning captain a polaroid of the trophy in case the real thing gets damaged.

Does that mean if the Boro win their semi-final we have a home final or is it two-leg or is it played to a finish on a neutral ground.

And what date has been allocated for this/these or is it/are they a last minute moveable feast/s?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, but the final would still be away on a single match basis, supposedly to be played by the end of April.

we played in the final v grays a couple of years ago and the final was at grays ground - scandalous !!!

I remember being able to touch each tiny solid silver sail on the trophy after Canvey won it a few years back - and a voice whispering " Keep your hands off it " but I understand that it is now, so expensive that, like the " Ashes ", it stays in a central place somewhere, though not Lords, after the presentation. The final is played at the home ground of Basildon or Aveley if we go by previous years.

That's how the draw was made prior to the quarter-final stage, it wasn't deliberately arranged that way. If it was Grays I'm surprised they even lowered themselves to play the final.

they won on pens and celebrated like they had won the fa cup !!! The worst thing about playing at Grays is that you always get about 30/40 chavvy ten year olds behind the goal calling you names i never knew existed when i was that age !!!
