League Cup Final

Recommended Posts

I think it is only fair and courteous of me to get this thread on a level footing by explaining the criteria for holding the Cup Final bearing in mind that Barkingside were not the only club to offer their facilities for May 2nd. The main one was that the Officers wished to make a decision by the last League meeting and that meant that all the 4 semi-finalists could not qualify on this occasion as we always hold a final at a neutral venue.

It is at this juncture therefore, that I publicly thank Waltham Abbey FC for "offering" their facility to us quite a while back, but also congratulate them on being semi-finalists thanks to a 119th minute " winner" last Tuesday. I am sorry, therefore that we have to politely decline this time. Barkingside is a top rated ground and Mr & Mrs T plus the Chapman family did a splendid job the season before last in holding the final. Thirdly, it is central, and finally, it is the closest ground to our Sponsor who has done this League proud over the past two season's.

That's it, folks, there isn't anything we wish to hide but perhaps there might have been some puzzled readers after previous postings. Good luck to all the semi-finalists and we hope you will have a memorable day on May 2nd at Oakside.

I don't mind explaining things Zody.At the end of the day we are all here to enjoy the game. Yes, I was pleased to meet you on Saturday and was aware of how busy you were. The atmosphere with all those youngsters was electric. I haven't got much on top either so " snap" there !
