It's easy to think you're loud standing in all that noise, afro, but from where we were all your noise drifted into the night sky!

I thought it was a horrible game of football, but if I'd won I'd've thought it was the best game I'd ever seen!

Maybe you could'nt hear us over the constant moaning and groaning from your lot!

As for drifting into the night sky (!) apparently it sounded pretty impressive on the (biased)internet commentary, and it seemed to me that all of our 200+ fans were singing, but then I'm biased too!

Allez Les Bleus!

Er..... quite simply, no.
Surely you couldn't claim to be the best side on Saturday?

This isn't sour grapes. The fact remains that it wasn't the best side that won, more a case of the side more eager on the night and...... for whatever reason, more capable of taking advantage of some bizarre events.

Good luck in progressing.

Well I didn't think your lot made any noise, quietest fans I'd heard all year, and I go to Chelsea!!!!!

I also thought our fans made a lot of noise.

Oh you know what it is don't ya? Because I was stood near our fans they sounded the loudest, if on the other hand I had been stood near your fans they would have sounded the loudest.

Ah you gotta love a bit of common sense.

Indeed, I was behind the goal with their lot and they seemed to be constantly out-singing our guys. It has to be said their vocal repertoire was far more varied than ours (if I hear 'if you all hate Canvey clap your hands' one more time, I'll scream). I sincerely hope the away end is at least partially open to home fans on Saturday or I might go mad in the Stonebridge Road side listening to the 'banter' (a.k.a. our fans inventing a rivalry the other team doesn't care about...)

Well done Bernard - why not come and help us with your own array of songs then??

Presumably because he, like me, prefers to stand on the open terrace so that you can actually see the whole pitch, unlike at the back of the Stonebridge Road terrace. If it's a competition between vocal support and actually being able to see the game, it's no contest.

However, of course all vocal support for the players is to be appreciated - I'm sure none of us would disagree with that.

It probably does when you hear them hurling abuse at players rather than encouragement.

To be honest, I'd rather these abuse-hurling muppets didn't bother coming - if that means no full-time football, then so be it.

Unfortunately, it isn't a problem that only arrived upon our promotion to the Conference, of course. Over the years, some of the worst offenders have been the regulars who were even turning up week in, week out in the Dr. Martens and Ryman.

Please, Richard. Is there any need for personal comments here? The fact is, I prefer to remain in a position where I can see the game and there is not one person who can say I don't try and give my all in supporting the Fleet (in my short lifetime I have visited 32 away grounds to follow the boys). However, as jc has said, sometimes watching the game is a priority. If the view is good where the drummer is standing, I will, of course, offer my vocal support. However, petty chants against invented rivals simply won't entice me away from a better view of the pitch.

Lol, Kenny's new songs lately have been worthy of a Grammy. I was one of the 'few' trying to sing on Tuesday and even I thought to myself that that the Stortford fans were outsinging us. And no, it's not because the Stortford fans were terribly vocal with their mass numbers of fans, it was because our support was pretty dire. There was absolutely no atmoshpere down the side stand for the majority of the game, most fans preferring to hurl abuse at players rather than to sing and get behind the team. When we finally looked like we may get something from the game towards the end of normal time the noise picked up slightly, but as soon as it started going against us again, SILENCE.... We made much more noise than that at Stortford on Saturday with much less fans!

I think this is a problem that a lot of football fans often overlook and I think it's actually one of the contributing factors that led to the 3-0 defeat to Halifax. When we create no atmosphere, we often play worse. Unfortunately it's very hard to create an atmosphere in the morgue that is the halfway line and for the teams sake I hope the plough end gets re-opened soonish. Rant over.

And remember, sing your hearts out for the lads, they often need it.
