So where do we go from here?

Recommended Posts

What now for the end of the season? Opportunity wasted of course but we still have a lot to fight for, both on and off the pitch.

For instance I think the players are now fighting to stay at the club, the manager is fighting against the boo boys, the club are fighting to market themselves and we the fans along with the trust are fighting the Scally.

As long as we maintain these goals we'll be fine. I said at the time of Daish's appointment that I would not judge him until the end of the season and I defy anyone who wants to challange me on that. The guy has come in and turned our fourtunes around. Who was there to see the dibacle against The Daggers? Only two weeks later we got the result against Carlisle with after being 2-0 down at half time.

How many players have we got that are better then the level their playing at? Lets be generous and say three, Drury, Lovell and Pullen the rest are playing for us to give them new contracts so therefore we should win maybe half our games.

The club, where do they go from here? They need to raise £80,000 for a new stand and all with average gates of just over 1,000. Anyone who was planning to go to the semis and then the final but have now decided never to visit Stonebridge Road again may want to think back to how many times you have wished you were at Stonebridge Road or Canvey Island or Margate (or where was it we went 5-0 to win the rymans?) for the big games in our history. If like me you wasn't there then you'll know how gutting it is (although also nice) to hear everyone else go on about it and wish you were there.

Say we thrash someone really good (not this season of course we have played everyone really good) by a massive score line and it makes the national press, but you weren't there because of some game against the Bish.

And finally us the fans what have we got left to do? Well a massive crowd is expected for Saturday so anyone wishing to capitalise on this and get some much needed signatures for the petition go and see Jessica in the shop for some forms, I'm sure she'd welcome you with open arms.

Come on guys KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think you're being over generous there H.

I don't think the crowd on Saturday will be that great, as Canvey are in reality not a well supported team and they have struggled this season. Be lucky to see over the 1,000 as quite a few will probably be disillusioned with last night, which I certainly am. Unfortunately, I will be at Charlton on Saturday as my girlfried surprised with a 5 game season ticket for my Birthday, otherwise I would be at the Fleet. I agree that Liam Diash should be given to the end of the season to prove himself, but his tatical awareness last night left a lot to be desired!!!!

The difference between league football and non-league football is not necessarily the skill factor, but being able to do it consistantly.

I'm sorry but neither Drury nor Lovell have the consistancy to go any higher at the moment.

And I'm sorry, because IMO both players have been very consistent lately. If you had said that in the early part of the season then I would have agreed with you.

And Surey was called a P**** by a scumbag in a very loud voice. I dare say these players will bear this in mind if and when contracts are offered to them

Don't remember that game, Harry. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> The 1-0 win at Bedford secured the Ryman League title, with the 5-0 win over Margate coming the week after in the KSC final.
