Kevin...He is no wippa snapper anymore. But, Wivenhoe do have a better financial position than other div 1 clubs..Obviously not as good as your good selves though.

He scored in the 1-0 win away to Aldershot, header at the back post after some good work on the wing. For some reason Sammy Cooper's name springs to mind, but I can't believe it was him.

 

Also scored the first v Hereford.

 

Didn't he arrive from a conference team, I thought he was ok, nothing special, scored about 17 goals in 39 games (but only 8 in the league).

Think he was at Welling before he joined us...not sure if they were conference at the time though. He did go on to play (briefly) for Daggers in the conf after leaving us.

Scored against Rushden didnt he. Could have had a few more as well. Never rated him as a team player though. He always had his own agenda.

He was at Aldershot as well and think he played for Yeovil at one stage.

So in summary, 'Ol Waff has played for every other club, has a mobile phone stuck to his ear, and costs a tidy packet. Not bad for a journeyman striker that's about to sign for Chelmsford!!

If you thinking about the game in 1999, where Sh*its supporters attacked us in the second half, it was Adekola who scored, not Browne.

The 1999 game was when Adekola scored from the angle of the penalty area...Then some, how shall we put this.."Insurgents" walked into the away part of the East Bank...Personally I think they came in to collect their coins that had fallen out of their pockets and inadvertently landed on our side of the fencing.. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/whistling.gif" alt="" />...I think it was the following season that Browne scored for us against them...Fourtunatley that year a green mesh netting had been erected to catch those falling pennies, and the "hole" in the wall of the Eastbank had been filled in.
