From what I saw last night we desperately need an entirely new forward line and a right back.
Also the frantic headless chicken approach needs to be calmed down as our ability to retain the ball was appalling.
Finally too many 'head down' runs from Drury,Mckimm,Pinnock and Lovell, getting everybody else out of position.

why didnt we have provs?

I think you are missing my point. We got such good draws - it all opened up for us - but clearly fate was against us. Like England in 2002 (well they're rubbish, but you get my drift) we simply weren't meant to win it. However, if at first you don't succeed...

OK, in an ideal world (ie. on where players aren't on two-year contracts and you'd replace them with better players), who would you keep and who would you let go in the summer? IN my opinion:

KEEP
Pullen
Wilko (if he's happy as reserve keeper)
Gledhill
Protheroe
Skinner
Saunders
McKimm
McCarthy
Lovell
Drury
Manny

RELEASE
Pinnock
Essandoh
Jackson
Sidibe
Porter

UNDECIDED/USEFUL SQUAD PLAYERS?
Surey
Bunce
Sigere

This is quite ironic, last season I had a similer list full of C****** players that I wanted to get rid of. The inquest came after the Monaco game when the booted us out of the Champions League.

Of course we had a sugar daddy providing enough money to replace all these players. So now in the summer The Fleet have to shell out on new players to replace the ones that are not good enough, try and transcend to full time football and raise the cash for the repairs tothe stand.

Essandoh should go as he just does not do the job, Jackson (even given his two goals last night) is not a Confernece standard player (sorry Jimmy). Pinnock tries but has not got the quality. Wilkerson can't kick so he should got too, Pullen is the undoubted No.1. Gledhill just does not cut the mustard, Manny is too injury prone, and the list could go on.

Anyone else?

OK, so some players will inevitably leave - but are such wholesale changes really such a good idea? As I've said elsewhere, we all know Pullen's our best goalkeeper overall - but we still need a back-up 'keeper, don't we?

Interesting that you criticize us for not finishing Stortford off in the second half by 'playing football', and then say 'pretty boy stuff is no good' with reference to Jukebox. Perhaps you'd rather just have a team of 11 Matt Redmiles instead?

on radio kent they were saying that porter gave his all last night - but i thought it was a mahussive risk playing him

Surely the two statements are not mutually exclusive?

Where was Chris Moore when we needed him? I somehow doubt they would have got their second equaliser with Mooro on the pitch.

Come to that, had we had our first choice Centre Back, McCarthy, available then things may have been different - albeit that it wouldnt have helped with the lack of defensive pace.

Whilst I dont deny that BS deserved their victory last night, I'm amazed no-one has mentioned the questionable first penalty for BS.

Even the Stevenage guy who was at the game has posted on Confguide that his view was that it was never a penalty - having hit Ports on the knee AND outside the area.(If it was handball & considered ball to hand, why did he not book Ports, anyway? If it was not considered deliberate, how do you give a penalty?)

That decision by the lino was potentially the main turning point of the night - it gave them a real lift and set us back as well.

Like I said, not an excuse - especially as our second goal should have brought victory, but something that should perhaps also be borne in mind.

I had hoped Meridian might show something tonight, but they couldnt even be asked to mention the result, let alone show the goals (Would it have been the same had we won, I wonder?)

From where I was sitting, in the main stand, it looked more like it hit Ports on the knee. But was amazed a pen was given because, to me, it was outside the box! Watched Meridian hoping to confirm this but, as you say, not even a mention.

I felt that it was actually just inside the box and possibly struck his hand, but it looked like ball-to-hand to me.
