Let's have a heated debate...

OK, in an ideal world (ie. on where players aren't on two-year contracts and you'd replace them with better players), who would you keep and who would you let go in the summer? IN my opinion:

KEEP

Pullen

Wilko (if he's happy as reserve keeper)

Gledhill

Protheroe

Skinner

Saunders

McKimm

McCarthy

Lovell

Drury

Manny

RELEASE

Pinnock

Essandoh

Jackson

Sidibe

Porter

UNDECIDED/USEFUL SQUAD PLAYERS?

Surey

Bunce

Sigere

From what I saw last night we desperately need an entirely new forward line and a right back.

Also the frantic headless chicken approach needs to be calmed down as our ability to retain the ball was appalling.

Finally too many 'head down' runs from Drury,Mckimm,Pinnock and Lovell, getting everybody else out of position.

not jako last night his 2nd goal was the best i ever seen.

A bit of a short-term memory there. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Of course, a superb second goal from Jacko, but not that good, surely?

OK I haven't had the benefit of seeing the team since Liam took over,so I really cant have an opinion, but it does seem to me that give yourselves a few days to calm down as your'e all rightly p....... off at the mo!

Decisions over who you think should stay or go need to be considered carefully without any emotion,it's all too easy to start blaming individuals, hopefully this result will help to shape Liams plans for next season and then we'll see what he's made of.

I am totally p***** off after watching the shambles of last night. We were playing against ten men for all the second half and should have won easily, if we had played football, but alas we did not and I feel this might be Mr Diash's style. Which if true, is rather worrying. The one player I would get shot off based on last night is Drury, undoubtably a good player but pretty boy stuff is no good. Essandoh should go as he just does not do the job, Jackson (even given his two goals last night) is not a Confernece standard player (sorry Jimmy). Pinnock tries but has not got the quality. Wilkerson can't kick so he should got too, Pullen is the undoubted No.1. Gledhill just does not cut the mustard, Manny is too injury prone, and the list could go on. Whoever is kept or goes, Mr Diash needs to get things sorted quickly and this season could end in a relegation battle and next season could be tough!!!!

Interesting we do need to re-shape the squad, bring in new blood our problem will be money so lets just see what happens, i believe most of the current squad will go most new Managers change things around.

If need be we have to sell Drury or others to make some much needed cash, that is what it is all about at our level.

Hang on people. Gledhill has been superb and a star in many peoples eyes over recent games and all of a sudden you slate him!

Manny is very inconsistent BUT he is our best forward.

Drury was class and had every right IMO to stick his finger up at the fan that called him [****!!****].

Porter - goodbye - unlucky, but not good enough!

Wilko was immense and will rightly be kept.

Roy unfortunately has lost the plot.

You're not wrong superb, but we have to ask ourselves that if we want to progress, is just 'giving our all' enough? Jacko's been a wonderful servant and last night he was brilliant, but he won't last the Conference pace. Vital asset as Roy once was, we could've played Wilko up front for the last 10 weeks for a similar goal return (granted, better service might improve Roy's goal:game ratio). No-one has asked for Sigere to move on - the original poster was 'undecided'.

Porter's only played 15 games - I'd rather pay the same money for a defender that starts 30+.

I agree about Porter, it's a waste of time keeping a player who is constantly injured. As for Jacko, he was never the same player once we got into the Conference. It would have been a fairytale ending had he won the gam with his second goal, then we wouldn't be discussing the players' futures. Two poor results, and the two late goals, are alarming, but we've given it a good go, better than usual, and we just clearly weren't fated to win it this time round, judging by the atrocious hands dealt to us over the two legs.

Basically, we're just annoyed cos the season's practically over. Let's just swallow, take a deep breath and move on.

....Yeah, and the fact that we were always drawn at home in each round prior to this one....and the fact that we were always drawn to play teams from a lower league....and the fact that we wouldn't necessarily play a Conference club even in the final?

I disagree. Massively. I think this was the best chance we've ever had of lifting this trophy and I don't believe we'll ever have this many good hands dealt to us again.

It was there for the taking, and we passed the buck.

Bitterly disappointed.
