Views From The Match

On the way back from the match now. Rebels had the better of the first half with some good chances squandered but played quite well throughout the match and a damn sight better than the recent league performance at Heybridge, saw a breakthrough goal from Harris midway through the second half.

Heybridge then pushed the Rebels back and with Matt Murphy having being subbed off, the Rebels were struggling to hold the ball upfront and the equaliser eventually came after a fantastic save from Allaway brought the hosts a corner from which another free header for their striker, possibly Griffiths, saw him equalise.

Slough pushed on again though despite being pegged back, and a fantastic finish from Seedel from a Cann cross sealed a good win for the Rebels. Attendance was poor. Would say about 50-60 Rebels made the journey in a crowd of about 180.

Highlight of my evening, making the keeper bite. It took 92 minutes, but was worth every second of the poor boys reaction as he seemed to think we were there to watch him, and him alone. As much of an attraction as his hair is, that wasn't the case. Sorry lad.

Did they have the players in tights!?

As for their keeper. He was one of the few who can take stick, give it back and have a drink with us in the bar afterwards!

Well, we had a point to prove last night and to some extent we did. I'm sure Eddie and Micky won't be too happy about the defending shortly before the goal and for the goal which left the same player with a free header, something which we appear to be very poor on at the moment surprisingly, given the aerial prowess of quite a few of our players.

Should be no reason why we can't complete the job at home if we can produce a repeat performance. Would gladly take the three points on offer in the league match from them as well though.

I don't know whether anyone's mentioned this yet but for anyone who is not sure, AWAY GOALS DON'T COME INTO IT!!!!!. This means that if we were to lose 1-0 at home, extra time and penalties would be played as opposed to the Champions League, for example, where that result would see us through by virtue of 2 away goals to their 1.
